THIS is the affirmative action issue we should be talking about: “donations” and legacies.
And some end up as president...
Yeah, I’m confused. I thought this was something everyone knew about. Rich people pay money to get their kids into fancy colleges.
Not that I’m totally OK with that either, but my understanding is that this is even more insidious. It wasn’t just a fat check with a wink and a nod, it was outright falsifying test scores, transcripts, athletic resumes, etc.
This is a problem because the rich people weren't paying the right people enough. Everyone should know by now that the proper way to get your dumb kid in school is go bribe the college itself through a donation, NOT to try to save money by bribing an individual.
It’s annoying. But it’s not as if rich people buying their kids way into college is really anything new. This is just a same bing but different situation. But hey, maybe this will shine a big ol light on it and shut night change 🤷🏻♂️.
You’re not supposed to feel any particular way. People cheat at things or otherwise break the law. Some of them get caught. If some of them are celebrities, it might be on the news. For example the Robert Kraft stuff
So what was the problem with “affirmative action” again???
In relation to the latest college scandal
Rich people
Rich person” X “pays cheat money to go to school A> Great job (investment Bank, consulting fim) only recruits and hires from school A....wealth accumulates to person X’s child (person Y)...the cycle repeats....welcome to America
