Hello Fishes, I have received an offer as SD1 at Amazon Gurgaon. I have 1 yr and 6 months of experience. I did my BTech in computer science from 2016-20. I had some active backlogs as well. Due to covid, many exams were not conducted and as for the ones that did happen, the results are taking forever to come. Right now I have one backlog and the result is yet to be announced. I am positive I will pass. Will this affect my offer from Amazon during background check as I am yet to receive degree?

Can someone explain to me why the government doesn’t just freeze rent and mortgage payments during coronavirus and then provide unemployment to those who need it? Seems like everyone could get a temporary free pass if the fed on down forgives loan payments throughout the crisis, and unemployment benefits / stimulus provided to individuals could be significantly lower without having to factor in rent. What am I missing here?

My best friend’s parents tested positive for COVID today an started showing symptoms 2 day ago. He hasn’t seen them in ~2 weeks but we’ve been in regular contact. My sister feels as if I should now quarantine and isolate myself. I think I’m fine since he hasn’t been in contact with them or anyone else in that house (he has a brother who lives with them that tested negative). I’m going to continue to take precautions but not quarantine. Am I being selfish?

Been experiencing severe PMS mood swings from the time of my ovulation until my period ever since Covid hit. Private schools are back in session while the public schools are virtual due to covid. Once again the lower income communities are screwed while the wealthy are able to continue as is. Except this time its the kids and this is a v long term impact well past Covis. Can we really not reopen (even partially) schools safely ?

How are folks feeling about in-person staff meetings these days? I'm vaccinated, but still trepidatious about large indoor gatherings. I recall the CDC report noting that most school COVID transmission was adult-to-adult, exacerbating my reservations. My primary concern is colleagues, who will not vaccinate, potentially harboring the virus. It's unclear whether the vaccine would prevent me from asymptomatically contracting the virus & spreading it to my as yet unvaccinated children. Thoughts?
