Did you have fun at the Halloween party?
Hi Everyone !!!
This June I completed my 9 months at Career Level 12 and Sub Level 3 I.e, CL 12.3 at Accenture Operations. My Annual Talent Discussion and One-on-One with People Lead is complete as of last week.
I have 3 questions now :
1. When can I expect to move to 12.2 ?
2. What is the general hike I can expect ? And when it is reflected ?
3. When will be the variable pay will be paid out ?
Can anyone here help me with this performance cycle part ? I am really confused.

Gotta slay the dragon in your 20’s, then enjoy the fruits of your labor in your 30’s and beyond
What is the definition of ‘fruits? More money? No amount of money can replace time with friends and family. Or your youth and young years. And for what? It’s not like you are saving lives.
So, congratulations on your insight.
I’m a ‘she’, not a ‘he’ lol but that can be a whole different thread
I don’t see my manager and above enjoying the fruits of their labor
We are enjoying the fruits of your labor. 👍
i’ve tried to justify this by comparing it to financial reporting, where i would be busy for month ends, quarter ends, and year end. it’s like busy season, but spread out throughout the year. at least public accounting has its busy season during the yucky winter months
Let’s put a definition on these fruits - more money and more flexibility to make your own schedule. Don’t get me wrong you still work crazy hard in your thirties but you can do things like head over to Europe (almost) whenever you want, afford to go out to the best restaurants, and afford a really nice house. Ironically, my friends that prioritized free time over building a career are now trying to play catch up now that the realize what was at stake.
First year here and feeling the same way. I don't have energy to do anything on my one day off either
Same. I Literally sleep in after working 10-14 hours each day. Weekends are just buffers for my mind to rest now. Wtf?!
Spot on KPMG 1.
Idk KPMG. If I had to rely on the best restaurants and a nice house, I don’t think I would be happy. It sounds very artificial.
Exactly, purchasing nice things/experiences for a fleeting memory isn’t a good trade off for the time lost that could be spent on personal development and companionship w loved ones. I feel more comfortable knowing I can see my family every night and spend hours with them after work than the comfort of financing extravagant vacations for a fraction of the year/whatever things people think money can buy for happiness
If your managers (or above) choose to leave and go into industry, they will be enjoying the proverbial fruits. Conversely, if an associate decides to leave so he can go play and travel (side note: I’ve travelled quite a bit during my time in PA, and quite enjoyed my 6 weeks off per year), and hang out with his friends, he will likely enjoy no fruits in his 30’s and beyond - Or perhaps the fruit will be less juicy and fresh.
Where can I buy this pyramid of fruit?
I’m still in PA after 14 years and definitely can say it gets better in your mid 30s.
Like, how much higher? Lol

I traded my 20s and early 30s for late nights and weekends and I agree with Senior Tax Manager - it does get better and pays off. You will always work nights and weekends in this field likely but you will be able to manage your workflow. Carve out some must have time for your self - and your friends and family. And treat yourself to a massage
Agree with KPMG 1
I started PwC in my late 20s spent early 20s travelling and working on a job requiring lots of work but generous time off. No regrets.
It’s all perspective. If you are looking for a 9-5 job with a predictable schedule and rarely having to work weekends or late nights this is simply not the place / career for you (which is ok if that’s the case). I took full advantage of flexibility and the good vacation in my 20’s and did what I wanted in terms of travel. With more experience also comes more autonomy and the ability to direct your schedule better. That said busy season sucks...I’ve never met a soul that was dying to work the weekend, but for some that’s worth it for the autonomy and flexibility you can have in other times.
