I feel so overwhelmed with one of my clients. A partner assigned me one of his biggest clients and I think I’m not doing it justice with my inexperience. There’s two partners assigned to this client and I’m the only tax staff on it. They’re not bad partners I am just not confident in myself. Thanks for reading my vent.

Take tasks one at the time, get it done and move to the next one. When you do get overwhelmed go for a run / meal / retail therapy or whatever else helps you clear your mind for an hour or so. Feeling overwhelmed is perfectly normal and we all have days (or more like weeks) like that. You can do it you got this

I couldn’t agree anymore with SM1!! Most of the time, especially when we are busy, we feel like we have to sit on our desk and crunch numbers/review deliverable after deliverable. However, stepping away for at least 30mins gives you a clear mindset. I recently started taking 1-hour walk around midday and it has really helped!

Take advantage of this assignment to work directly with the 2 partners. They gave you the assignment bc they see something in you. Ask questions and use this as a learning experience

Be confident in yourself and be Strong! You won’t know whether you can do it or not until the end. Just try the best as you can and once it’s done and you can look back at yourself and be proud with what you have done!!!

Thank you!! 😊

If the partners didn’t have faith in your ability, they wouldn’t have put you on the account like that. View it as a compliment.

Growth is painful. It will be stressful, but these are the experiences that make you a better practitioner.

Hi all,

#kpmg#India

In the portal, I can see that I am tagged to a project and the Start Date is 10/Jan/23.

But the status is "Proposed" not "Staffed"
What does that signify?

Moreover, the Project Code starts with "temp"
For eg
Temp-ProjectCode

This is weird as well.

Can anyone suggest what does this means?
Whom should I reach out to, for more info?

Any inputs will be helpful.

Thanks!

Deloitte Tax is giving all seniors and managers a $20k retention bonus to be paid out in April. Must pay back if you leave before 2 years. With market adjustments back in December, this retention bonus in April, regular bonuses to be paid out in May, and comp increases slated for June, surprised to say that Deloitte has really exceeded expectations to keep compensation competitive. Let the bidding war between firms continue to increase salaries.
