That's a good attitude. I am right there with you. Let's hope this is our week!

Have you communicated this in a way that matters to them? The key is to write your networking message, "cover" letter, and resume, too, in terms of potential problems and/or needs they have that you might be able to help them with. 50 events and 20 activations is a "boring" stat that means nothing much to me / tells me nothing about who you are and what makes you "special". I see your stats and I can raise you 5 times that ;) Look up how to write a pain letter or a human voiced resume - a more interesting approach to standing out, especially as Account. Good luck 🍀

It’s probably a salary issue or that the recruiters dont understand what you do. Many still only think in traditional terms

Teams aren’t looking for someone who’s “done it all” at your level. They are looking for someone who does something very well and will add value quickly. The last person I want to hire for an AE role is someone that tells me they can do everything—that would make me wonder if you’re just trying to get your foot in the door to switch departments. Just my 2 cents!

At AD1 Yes i have. I review every job description and tailor my interviews according to their pain points. I literally go through their job description and discuss when my experience fits and how i can be of value. I’m going to check out the pain letter & human voice resume though, that’s new. I do appreciate the insight nuggets. Thanks

@OP, I think the first step is deciding what you want to do. Do you want to do project management? Account management? Content? Once you figure that out, your cover letter and resume should be tailored to that. Speaking of resume, I see a lot of “job description” resumes—that is, it tells me what I already know about your precious positions. What I like to see is quantified accomplishments. Prove you’re good at the job, not that you know what the job is. That’ll get you the interview, but during the interview, I want to see you’re passionate about the position you’re interviewing for. This is where your job-related answers (and questions) should all ladder up to the position and expectations of the job you’re interviewing for. For non-job related questions, I also just generally want to like you. I’m gonna be working closely with you for 8+ hours a day. I will say, that I’m just giving your my opinion. Hiring managers sometimes look for different things. Be you!

@GAS1 I appreciate the 2cents. My post originated from frustration/sarcasm so my POV at the time was jaded. Your insight is helpful. I was viewing this as a benefit in the way that I can speak on the full scope of experiential. I have had to do everything from the first initial contact to strike to cleaning it up/reporting. Any tips on improving my value prop when interviewing?

Question: The company that you are working for offers cloud managed services and has been approached by a potential client. What are some areas (or red flags) you would consider before responding to their RFP? ( I started putting together a response but would love to get your insights) Answer: 1) Understanding of current annual spending vs spending if they adopted our cloud services 2) Clients expected growth rate 3) Regulatory requirements depending on industry (medical, fed etc)

Anyone’s firm use OTG time for a timesheet? It constantly ruins the time entered into my timers when I switch back and forth. For example, I was billing to a client and had 3.4 hours or so. Then when I switched back to the matter later in the day, it had gone to 5.2. It happens to 3-4 timers throughout the day. What’s the point of having a timer if it doesn’t even properly track time? Anyone have suggestions for a different timer I can use? I end up losing time because I always round down.

Help estimating a non-traditional AD freelance rate? Deets: I’m technically a Jr. AD, but I pivoted to advertising after working in marketing + graphic design for 6 years. I’m nearly finished with portfolio school and my portfolio site was strong enough to land me a great internship where I’ve done client-facing work for big brands. Does this make a difference in what I can charge for hourly work? Or would it be considered junior rates regardless? Thanks in advance for reccs/advice! 🙏🏻

So I’m about to be let go because my project is ending in two weeks. I started looking for a jobs about 4 months ago. For many of the jobs, I was met with the salary range question during the recruiter interview. I didn’t give a range right away but I also wasn’t moving forward as gave recruiters resistance. After about a couple months, and no movement, I finally gave a range for a position and I moved forward to interview and ultimately job offer.…
