Exactly my thought today morning. Read in the news a couple was scammed trying to book appointments in Arizona and got the good old pop up from Microsoft that their system is hacked and gave a number to call on. Made them run to a pharmacy to buy thousands dollars worth PayPal gift cards and took the card numbers. It broke my heart reading that. Can you share some info on how you have been doing it while staying safe?

Agree. I’ve been helping any seniors in my life to get appointments online and also asking around for anyone that might need help. I’ve gotten 8 appointments so far and it does feel nice to help seniors, mostly family members, who are otherwise unable to figure it out on their own. I also helped a friend who is a frontline worker get one for her Dad because she’s so busy and she was telling me that by the time she checks all the appointments are gone. I’m WFH right now so it’s not a huge deal for me to pop in the appointments website a few times a day to see if anything opened up. It’s not hard to do, you’ll just need some basic info like name, DOB, insurance info. I also secretly loved the challenge of getting the appointments knowing how scarce they are and how fast they go. But mostly I loved hearing them when I’d tell them I got an appointment for them. They were so happy.

SR1, I have been talking with some people on the phone and helping them set up accounts online, then explaining how they log into their account to get an appointment. If they are really not good with the computer, we will sit out on my deck, with masks and social distanced and I will explain how to create and account and how and when to try and get an appt. In many instances, I just create the account and get the appointment for them. Have scheduled 11 appointments for people so far, working on 2 others this week. It makes me happy to see them relieved.

I’m planning to visit my parents after 2 years. Last time I went home, it was with a fiancé - that fell apart during COVID. Would anyone buy a restaurant? There's a decent restaurant near where I live selling for what appears to be a pretty low price (assuming due to COVID). I'm really tempted to give it a go, and I have the finances to "weather the storm" until vaccines are out. I would of course go over their books before moving forward, just curious if anyone's had a positive experience?

I get it’s scary times and people are trying to be cautious. But if you are waving at me from a far because I am walking on the same sidewalk as you do, pausing and hiding away if you see me coming, or looking at me like I am a dirtbag, I hope you get the coronavirus for treating others unkindly. We are in this together and I am not trying to get it as much as you are. Rant over. And I didn’t really mean I want you to get it. I am frustrated what seems to be just rude gestures.

In my town, we have been getting daily email notifications from the school district informing the parents of new Covid cases, usually it’s 1-3 new cases per email/day, the last email earlier this evening, 22 people (students, faculty, and district employees) tested positive!! Infection is spiking bc of the holidays. I am so glad we made the decision of keeping our kids home for virtual classes instead. How is the situation in your town?

My ex wife was ranting about the latest season of American Horror Story and I jokingly said something and she responded by stating, as a matter of fact, that Eisenhower negotiated a treaty with Aliens so that in exchange for 5,000 citizens each year, we get peace with Aliens. She’s also anti-vax despite having been hospitalized for 4 days with COVID. I’m speaking to a lawyer this week, but am I unreasonable to think this thinking and behavior is grounds to modify our custody agreement?

During Covid I lived with my parents a few months after living alone for 5 years (distance 3h by plane). I realized that not only I love living alone, I dont see myself at all marrying or having kids. I like to do to my things the way I like, to eat when/what I want to etc. That's it! I know I might turn to be a older and lonely man, but that's how I see my future.
