I feel very burnt out. I’m bored at work and not engaged. I’m constantly physically tired. Am I just in a rut? Do I need a career change? How do I know the difference? Just feel like I’m throwing everything I’ve worked so hard for away because I don’t have the energy to even try anymore. Won’t even make my hours this year. Only a matter of time before they ask me to leave. When did I become this person?

I would suggest seeing a therapist to figure out what’s going on. I felt like I was in a rut last winter and talking it through with someone really helped.

Take a well deserved vacation from work and get a therapist to help you sort these issues out. That’s what helped me 100% when I needed it.

I feel the same. DM if you want to chat. I know my fiancée and family are tired of hearing it from me. 🤣

Hi all,
Need an advice. I am confused between doing masters or learn tech stack and increase experience and salary.
*My primary goal is to earn more.*
If masters I have to do in US or UK, so GRE, GMAT.
If for learning and tech experience I can learn tech stacks.
But I am confused between this.
Could you please tell or suggest what would be a better choice? Is doing masters in US or UK is a better ROI or be in India and gain exp and earn more by switching?
Currently I am a Java developer.
TIA

Just needing a safe place to vent. We were extra vigilant about the holidays with our two kids under the age of 5 requiring everyone to test and be vaccinated and keeping our gathering extremely small. Nope…not enough. We are now quarantined because my kids can’t be vaccinated and are too young to wear masks. Thankfully my husband and I can rotate parental obligations so we can work, but I’m exhausted and it’s year end so extra busy.

Advice needed! I started at an ID firm only a few months ago after a long stint doing in-house litigation. I was referred to the firm by a very good friend who also still works there. A management position at my old in-house firm has now been offered to me. Higher salary obviously and no billables. I am seriously dreading talking to my new boss and telling my friend that I want to go back in-house. Has anyone dealt with something similar? I just feel so bad and don’t want to burn bridges

Discovered major pay difference between myself and two new male hires with equal experience. Asked for a raise and was shot down due to Covid and essentially told they make more (were talking a 30k) bc they don’t have my “other responsibilities” aKa my two kids. I know my productivity is effected by parental responsibility but I don’t feel that alone justifies the difference. I know our billable output isn’t drastically different. Not sure what my next steps should be and welcome any advice.

Anyone have three kids and working in big law? I just found out I’m pregnant with no. 3 and it’s been a lot trying to juggle morning sickness, but based on my experience, I know this is only the tip of the iceberg of what’s to come. My husband and I are elated, but the anxiety of being a mom of 3 kids and working in big law is preventing me from truly enjoying this news. It would be good to know what it’s really like having 3 kids so that I can evaluate how long I really have left in big law.
