It seems job hopping every 2-3 years is the norm now.

Prior to my current company I was in the same boat. Tenure is golden handcuffs, maybe, idk. I’m 5 years in and currently wondering if how comfortable I am is what’s holding me back from pursuing more and taking advantage of the hot job market. But it is also SO nice to know that my team knows me and my work weirdsies, and they have my back. It’s comforting to know that my performance record is well-established. I have accrued enough PTO to take a small sabbatical, even. If you haven’t felt like sticking around anywhere that you’ve worked so far, there’s no shame in that. You’re discerning! That’s a gift. You’ll know when you’re in a good situation to stay put for a while, I promise!
