I was recently off my medication while pregnant (so double appetite whammy…) Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a ton you can do beyond just trying to eat well and find low-calorie snacks to try to make up for the difference in volume / hunger.
Do you work out? My husband who has ADD finds that working out helps with the weight gain/appetite issues.
It takes a while to get used to the feeling of hunger again and relearn how to manage it. This sounds lame, but scheduling your meals, eating a lot of protein, and time will get you back to "normal".
It helped me to realize my overeating when off meds was tied to a need for stimulation (both from the dopamine in the food and the activity). This might not be your situation but learning how to differentiate between actual hunger/appetite and dopamine seeking behavior helped me a lot.

Out of curiosity, why did you get off adderall?
Just worried about long term repercussions, became to dependent on it, big pharma convincing folks they need it, and realizing that my desire to be on it was purely because of the need to be competitive- as in, i don’t have to always be “on”. There’s more to life than work. Like if you take this drug during the week and off on the weekends, you are only taking it for work and that’s unhealthy.
Congratulations on getting off of it. I want to so badly, but I think it’ll take leaving my job.
Am I the only person who actually gains weight while on it? I have every side effect, including rare ones, but the one I’d be ok with having, I don’t - appetite suppression. Meanwhile, while on it, all I do is work, and get unbalanced, and the first things to go are daily workouts & healthy cooking. 😞 I would echo the working out thing mentioned above, your body will find its way back to homeostasis after a few months. I would think just try to eat healthy & not wait until you’re starving to eat, because that leads to bad food choices. Also, protein/meat would be filling & would aid in your body/brain repair. Just opinions, not of any health background here, just conscientious about it.
