Go out with the drinking people and don't drink
Oh yea! I assume the trend came over form Europe (went there on a baby moon back in 2019 and was so excited by all the options).
It’s popping up all over the city now.

Brunch, dinner, parks, boats, concerts, comedy, museums, galleries, pop-ups, sports
All of which are generally better if preceded or followed by a pint
Drink mocktails
Smoke weed, play sports, do cultural stuff.

There are loads of people who don’t drink. Daytime activities are no-brainers, at night if I don’t want to drink I get a straight cranberry juice with zero shame. If any of your people are making it weird, find better people. Dodge the sloppy drunks on your way out.

I basically don’t either and sometimes people are surprised but honestly I just get some water on the rocks and own my lack of desire to drink. Let me know if you want to make a non drinking friend to go for coffee instead!!! :-) I live in Fidi
I feel like ppl drink because everyone else is. I realized I can enjoy the social aspect without the liquor. Actually started bringing seltzer’s instead of wine when I hang with my girlfriends. do you, and do it with no shame. the ones who make you feel crazy for your decision aren’t your people.
It slows down in your mid 30s
museum hangs, gallery hops, cool events. but hard to say because Im the sober one out of my friend group so I often tag along to drinking related activities

I feel you ! especially when people invite you for brunch with unlimited alcohol. I hate that, because I love food but I don’t want to pay for alcohol. I also love to paint but I always see these sip and paint events that seem very cool but you have to pay the price of drinks included in the event. Can’t it just be an option ?
Ummm if you're in your 20s then yeah NYC is all about drinking… Honestly not the city for you if that's not your thing but yes that does slow down in your 30s a bit. A lot of the NYC social scene is very centered around drinking at any stage though really.
