Ultimately, you’ll have to make the decision on your own, and I’m sure there are more factors than laid out here. However, it’s never a bad idea to invest in yourself(education) for the long term. Sounds like a positive fork in the road. Good luck!
A career in data has way more upside in terms of salary growth and job outlook. There are more job openings for data roles than mech engineers. But it ultimately depends on which one are you more passionate about and which one are you better at?
