I feel like it's not anything you have to worry about now. You didn't intentionally get Covid and I'm sure they don't want you to come in getting everyone else sick. Don't push back your date just focus on getting better.
I mean either way would be fine. Life throws curveballs
Congratulations on your new job! Sorry it was met with COVID, but that's life. Your supervisor may feel a way about it but you can send them your test results to show the legitimacy of you needing time off. There's not much more you can do after that.
Take two weeks to rest, I personally wouldn’t sacrifice my opportunity for an employer I’m leaving. It‘a the company’s job to have checks and balances in place and to ensure proper training for new hires. Not yours. Rest and enjoy your future! Congrats!
Focus on moving forward. In this case, that includes getting better and starting your new job. As counter-intuitive as it may feel, your old job is no longer your responsibility to solve for. Congrats on the new job!
I wouldn't push back your start date you should be better within the 2 weeks. Focus on getting better during these 2 weeks. Good luck with your new job. Feel better.
First of all, congratulations on your new journey! Why should your current supervisor be pressed by it? It's not like you intentionally went out and chose to contract Covid. Taking the time to get better would be the safer option than continuing on with your work and spreading the disease in the office. Is working from home not a possibility for you?
Testing positive for Covid was relatively out of your control, so why should your supervisor complain about it. Just focus on getting better and don't worry about your last twoo weeks.
Congratulations on your new job! It's not your fault, OP. Just take this time to rest. That would be your contribution, for now. Get well soon! :)
