At least you don’t owe 50k on the master degree?
It’s kinda like JDs who earn more than us
Would you want that law school debt?

You are the winner here because you didn’t waste money and time on a masters degree
Haha definitely saved the money but not the time. I spend 5 years as well to be eligible to get CPA

Must be in tax? Only practice I’ve heard of that pays more for a masters (MTax) other than MBA fields.
Honestly, CPA (likely) won’t be a difference in pay as they design it so that everyone has to get it to stay.
Don’t worry about 5K - get better at your job and move up faster. Drive your career. You’ll get the better rating and progress faster
Me reading this with 50k in debt for my Masters and still paid the same as my peers who have just their Bachelors 🤡
Lol yeah I have a MAcc but with emphasis in Audit
It’s 5k a year - don’t sweat the little things
I would like you be bothered. I didn’t want to go into debt, so when I decided to get a second degree I went with undergrad in accounting since I would need most of the classes to get into a MAcc program anyway. I’m just as good of an employee and I have a cpa license, so I would be very frustrated to be paid 5k less just because I don’t have a masters. My state requires 150 hours, so that’s why a lot of people get them, but from what I’ve heard it doesn’t prepare you any more.
I know right? I also spend 5 years studying even it’s a bachelor’s degree.
One of the Smarter things I have done was have my company at the time pay for my MST
From the way I see it - you need to have a CPA 👨💼 in public
Grad school - top tier mba or mst provides you with a solid network
And I feel like your network is what gets you the high paying jobs

Ugh, I wish my state didn’t require a masters.

I have a masters, since everyone is required to have one I don’t think there is much difference in pay... but who knows

Have they specifically told you the 5k difference is due to them having a masters? It is possible they got more because of some negotiations
Not really but my peers are paid about the same and they all have masters, except me and I did heard Bachelors are paid less. So I believe it’s reasonable to assume it’s because of the degree.
