Prepare a transition memo listing out each active deal/case, status, c/m number, team on the client at the firm, who you normally communicate with at client, contact details, key reference documents, and open items/next steps.
These memos take a lot of time, so clear your weekend.

Another thing: current firm’s Partner is asking me to not let anyone know about my departure. Is that common? How else would I work with the other partners to transition my deals to other associates? Or even out of respect let them know I am leaving ahead of time?
Because partner doesn’t want you advertising the raise or other improved conditions you’re probably leaving for. Might even be hoping he or she is able to lure you back with a counter. All self-serving motives
