Any advice for working with a coworker who didn't get your job and is being passive aggressive and pointing out every little mistake you make to supervisors? I'm worried she will do something shady trying to get me fired so she will get my job.

Hi everyone! I’m a Product Designer currently in their first design position at a start-up company. I haven’t done this before as this is my first job, but as of lately I’ve been feeling really unmotivated and stagnant in my role. I’ve been working in the same role for 1 year and 6 months now. I want to get promoted and earn a higher wage, but I feel really intimidated and normally end up downplaying myself and asking for less in conversations. Any advice around how I can talk to my boss?

Do you think all these violent and hate filled attacks are because people aren't getting the emotional/mental support they need, whether it's therapy at any age or help they needed but didn't get from a social worker as a child? My coworker is sure this is the case, but I honestly think there's actually something deeper wrong either with how these people are being raised as children, or how the warning signs these people give off are ignored or swept under the rug to save face.

Planning to move back to our hometown before the baby is due which would make me about 6-7 months (move in April, due date is early July). Is it worth it to try and find a new job the last couple months of pregnancy or should I use that time to settle in to our new place before baby arrives? Is it silly to want to feel valued by my Partner/Practice Leader?

He rewards me well rating/comp-wise, gives me a lot of latitude etc but OTOH I constantly get blown off for check-ins, multiple emails ignored, excluded from some conversations that might be relevant for me, etc.

I find myself having to consciously work to keep a positive outlook on life. I know that if I go down the rabbit hole of negative thoughts, it won't end well. So, I try... and I mean try to stay positive.

What do you do to stay positive?

I am excited for marriage but have no as in zero excitement about a wedding. I would like to just sign the papers and be done with it. I’ve never had any one in my social circle go this route so I feel weird about how I want nothing in the way of a wedding. My fiancé is okay with it as long as we do something small with his family in his home country. I told my parents I’ll roll with whatever small thing they may want to do to but, left up to me, I would do nothing. Don’t know if it’s weird

I got painfully dumped by someone I was sure was the one 3 months ago. Was very hard at first and struggled with sadness, shame, etc. Fast forward I’m super grateful he dumped me because it forced me to do some deep work on myself and past wounds and learn what it means to truly love myself. I’ve finally stopped thinking about him and I feel like I’m a brand new version of myself

I’ve been meeting people who point out the color of my skin too many times for me not to notice. For context: im middle eastern and my skin is white. I’ve met middle eastern men who love how white I am (I was very uncomfortable with that) and also met western men who want me to be tanner (also very uncomfortable). I don’t understand what the attention on my skin color is about… does anyone understand this? It’s hard not letting this bother me
