Has anyone negotiated pay at a hospital or company that states they have different levels/tiers of fixed pay for so-and-so profession and can’t budge? I’ve worked in other fields prior to healthcare and have a hard time believing every (pick profession like PT) gets paid exactly (pick random number like $72,345). I’m skeptical because it sounds like “we have levels/tiers of fixed pay and can’t budge” is just an excuse to shut down negotiation right away. Can anyone share their experience?

When someone asks you for your net worth, be it credit card or a bank, do you include your 401k as well?
Should I be maxing out my 401k if I’m able to? I’m 25 and don’t have an immediate need for cash, aside from wanting to buy a house in the next 5 or so years.
I’m in Dallas right now and have an offer in Chicago (work in Chicago is much more interesting to me, quite similar base pay for the first few months and then increase 20%). Is it worth it to move?

I am a second year at a V50 and have never billed for reading emails or entering my time. (1) How much do you bill for these activities as a junior associate? Like .1 per time entry per matter? And how do you accurately estimate time spent on emails? I feel like I'm reading emails all day. (2) What narratives do you use for emails and time entry? (FYI we only block bill.)
I’m rolling off of what’s probably the easiest project with the best WLB next month, my choice. While it’s been a breeze, I wasn’t challenged or learning really anything for 9 months. But now I’m nervous about the next project bc this was clearly a diamond in the rough 😩 and my leadership is supportive and really nice too. Was this a bad idea?

Hey all, looking for some career advice.
I have 4+ years of hospitality management experience and have been managing a brand for a commercial real estate company for a little over a year now. I do everything for the brand from budgeting, purchasing, contract negotiations, event planning + execution, communications, managing our own app, the list could go on.
I’m thinking about switching into tech and becoming a scrum master, does anyone have any insight? I manage projects at my current job
