This. I left March 27 a classroom set up, materials and toys out. We were allowed 1 hour to get teaching materials from our room. This. I wanted to fall into the floor and cry.
We have had an extremely tough start to the year. I am second guessing my decision to continue teaching (year 20). What are some options for teachers that don’t involve the classroom or direct sale
My district is experiencing a teacher shortage (shocking). Prep teachers, academic coaches, and teachers on special assignment are being put back into the classroom. Any other districts doing the same?
Does anyone share a classroom with someone who totally disrespects all of your stuff and space? (AND allows their students to do the same when you aren't in the room?!) I am trying my best but we are only a few weeks in and I don't know how I'm going to handle the rest of the year like this. I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has also gone through this.
In your years of teaching in the public school setting, has anyone ever had students placed in their classroom that have never been to school at all? Help!!
Are you required to come into your building? I'm teaching vitrtually, but 2 days a week I'm required to come into my classroom.
What is your max class size for the year? Is that number based on a virtual or in person classroom?
We always talk about students being bullies, but do you know of any teachers that act like bullies in their classroom?
My 2 year old is a sensitive little guy and often cries at daycare drop off. Today, as I turned to leave, I saw his little face crying “mama” through the door of his classroom 😭 now I’m sobbing too...
Teachers, how long do you think it would take you to get back into the groove of teaching once all students return to the classroom?
Has anyone taught Romeo & Juliet before? I am worried about the suicide scenes, as I have a few students who recently attempted suicide. How do you deal with that aspect in your classroom?
Hi All! I hope you guys are staying safe and healthy. I am hosting a free workshop for teachers that I thought might benefit you. The workshop is called From Unsettled to Prepared Classroom. I am giving you the tools you need to feel organized and ready for this upcoming school year. There is so much that is still uncertain and it can be super daunting to start to plan for a year like this one. You can sign up here: https://adva-hanan.mykajabi.com/pl/192080
My district is looking for suggestions on ways to modify our special ed program. Ours is making life hard for our general ed classrooms. Does your district have a model you would suggest?
There are several children in my classroom who keep having tech issues. How can I support them without taking away from instruction time?
Preschool classrooms often look so different from kindergarten classrooms. What are some of the ways you bridge the gap?
As an interventionist, I work with many grade levels and students. Looking for the best way to document data and information along with how to share the information with classroom teachers & parents.
Am I the only teacher who doesn’t have family or friends willing to help with their classroom? I’ve moved rooms every year for the last 5 years and I have a large family and lot of friends, but no one is ever willing to help. I told my mom today that it really hurts my feelings, as she declined my request to help as she simultaneously asked ME to help do something for my sister’s house. I explained I’m always there when people need me, but I feel let down when I’m in need. Anyone else?
We're returning to the classroom! I haven't taught live, in a classroom, since Friday, March 13, 2020. Ack! This is also my first full year as a teacher. I have four of my students and 3 students from the younger class coming to my hybrid class for three hours M, T, Th, F, starting this Thursday. Any ideas? Tips? Rules? I have lots of ideas, but figured I should pick the experts' brains, rather than freaking out and spinning my wheels. I'm feeling very high anxiety today. Thanks!
Is it just me or does this article feel like an advertisement for Borosil company and their MD patting himself on the back? https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/02/perspectives/borosil-employees-india-covid/index.html
I worked in consulting for a couple of years and am in my freshman year in B-school. Even though I had planned to try out some new sector in my internship, I seem to not find anything else as........
I've been taking the silver line shuttle to Boston south station instead of an uber to save the client money, but I almost just got trampled and a suitcase fell on me. Never again 😰🙅🏻
2 years out of undergrad and planning to apply next year. I had a great relationship with an SM and decent with a partner, but since starting remote work due to COVID I have had virtually no face time with leadership bc of the size of my team and my responsibilities. Mostly just venting but ugh how do I get LORs!!
I don’t have a degree but consulting experience at Big 4. I learned you can get a bachelor degree in wine tasting, do you think it would still be accepted as a regular bachelor degree for future jobs?
Can staff or seniors refer interns in big 4, or are interns only really hired through campus recruiting?
Anyone knows what’s the base and bonus for a M2 in valuation position in NY area? Trying to negotiate an offer next week. Thanks!
Was laid off by D 2 years ago. Was reached for a position by a recruiter and have final rounds soon. Is this a joke, would they really hire me again? Note I was in Advisory new job is for Consulting.
What’s a typical salary for an acd in philly?
How often should you be interviewing for other roles even if you like your job? I somewhat enjoy my job right now but I don’t plan on staying for more than 3-5 years.
I work 8+ hour shifts in the office as we are an essential business where masks are required at all times. Has anyone else had the experience of wearing a good mask at work and getting excruciating headaches at work that last for a few hours after work? I've already had an isolation period so it's not Covid, but I'm thinking it might be the higher levels of carbon monoxide, as I've tried wearing a different mask and did not have the same problem.
Currently an SC at EY up for promotion to Manager (no guarantee this will occur) and have an offer from Deloitte for SC for a $15k base increase. Would you take the offer or wait for promo decision?
Do Mid Tier firms have similar exit opportunities as Big 4? I am moving to a mid tier as a Sr and want to stay until Sr Mgr at least, but curious about exit oops after that.
Hi all. To give everyone an update on my best friend, who had recently become my girl friend, we broke up. We were in the middle of our daily Zoom session and midway through, I saw a half-naked man running across the background. I confronted her about it and she did indeed confirm my worst fear that she was cheating. I am sad now.
Deloitte Finance & Enterprise Performance...anyone know if this is the move to be positioned for a future VP/SM industry role in FP&A or Controllership? I.e. is it SOX, or strategic & digital finance?
