Again, no outrage at the use of the platform to orchestrate a terrorist attack that killed police officers. Interesting.

Ahh the anti police falsehood, just like the BS about communism and socialism.

I try and maintain the outlook that there is a valid expression of conservativism, with integrity and intelligence and genuine, deeply held beliefs, but Conservatives who keep posting crap like this seem so determined to prove me wrong.
Parler was given the option to moderate and/or remove only the specific problematic content, and they refused. Had they agreed, it would have been able to remain.
Enthusiast
I am friends with several contacts in law enforcement (FBI, CIA). There are multiple credible sources indicating that there will be attacks on or around January 20. Since Parler is not being moderated in any way, shape or form, it is being utilized to rapidly assemble and organize domestic terrorists for these attacks. The CEO has openly stated they will not moderate the app to prevent this.
Let’s pretend that you are the CEO of a major platform that is hosting Parler. You have been given all of the facts above and they still continue to violate your terms and conditions. What do you do?
D1- google about the Parler hack and how some viginlantes backed up all data from Parler before it was taken down.
People have posted screenshots of the discussions that were happening on Parler.

I, for one, am comfortable with big tech and leaders wanting everyone to conform to the viewpoint of “don’t do a fascist coup.”
Well said
I know this post was about Parler but this still feels relevant.

Yes! I'm so confused by these "conservatives" who are whining about loosing followers. That means 30k of your followers are qanon, nazi, etc. Got it.
Or, you know, enforce your own terms and conditions to not incite/encourage violence. We had a coup last week - the status quo isn’t working man.
It’s not a coordinated takedown. Private businesses have chosen to stop doing business with another private business because of their actions.
Conservative voices are being silenced

They are literally going to protest at every state Capitol and were coordinating via the app. Yeah...gonna say you all are not the victims here. Yes, politicians should not have played games this long to get this bad, but jeez are you all really going to start holding state Capitol members hostage mostly because YOU THINK the election was rigged? All around horrible.
They can go read the WSJ like normal conservatives that still have a grip on reality.

Conservatives and hypocrisy are synonyms

You sound like you are parroting the Fox Entertainment talking points from the last 2 nights.
Parler had no means to control the posts planning and inciting violence. They were given an opportunity to fix it, they did not sufficiently address the issue as the violence and insurrection rhetoric continued, thus Amazon controlled the hate speech, insurrection planning for Parler.
This isn’t action against conservatives, it’s action against violence, hate speech, insurrection. See the difference?
Those that are engaging in that type of rhetoric are conservatives which is likely why it feels like conservatives are being targeted and why Fox and other radicalized right news outlets are using it as a talking point to continue the conservative outrage and aggression.
this type sentiment/post is one of the main reason why we had lunatics storm Capitol last week. And also why we had folks thinking storming the Capitol is a revolution.
Enthusiast
Not lunatics but most of them are simply ill-informed / uneducated. Their whole world is based on an universe of alt news sources that repeat certain things - their actions actually make sense if you look at it from that perspective. My concern is when apparently well educated people fall into the same trap - of blindly believing ridiculous conspiracy theories, lies, rumors - how do you put your analytical / rational skills to the side and parrot something with no evidence like “yeah looks like the work of Antifa” without registering the cognitive dissonance is beyond me. are they just mentally lazy? someone please explain this to me - I really want to understand
Ok MAGA

Then what are you worried about? Prominent conservatives are still on Twitter, whipping up fear of a conservative purge that their continued presence on Twitter proves isn’t happening.
Pro
Well would you let your organization support terrorism? Because that's what Facebook, Twitter, Amazon etc had to consider. Do they want to support and facilitate domestic terrorism? Once you look at it this was its easy to see why they made the decisions they did. Unfortunately law abiding conservatives do suffer as a result, and thats unfortunate
If this was about suppressing dangerous ideas/voices, you wouldn’t still be able to buy Mein Kampf on Amazon
Rising Star
They’re not suppressing the conservative voice; they’re trying to purge the unhinged conspiracy voice.
Aside from the legal liability of the hosting platform and the rights of private companies, the classic example cited as a logical limit to free speech is telling “fire” in a movie theater. Why? Because it’s almost without question going to create an out-of-control situation during which people are hurt and/or killed. That is a pretty solid parallel to what was taking place in that forum of late.
I agree, but conservatives are about less regulation. So I really don’t know what to tell you here.

Private companies are allowed to have terms of service. If a right wing company wants to start a cloud based solution to rival Amazon, have at.
If you don't adhere to the T&C of the agreements, which have been vetted by lawyers, then you face punishment. Parler obviously said F.U to them and learned that they're not special little children.
Look at it this way, if your client which only accounts for .002% of your revenue, started publicly catering to white supremacists and advertised your business on their homepage, would you cater to them and risk losing 80% of your revenue due to alienated clients jumping ship or would you cut off the bad blood of that client before it destroys your complete business and having your reputation tarnished?
