Feeling a bit lost lately. I’ve had some major life accomplishments recently and I feel they go unnoticed. I’m super stressed with work. Everyone has been super negative lately. Hi! I need some help negotiating a raise. I have been working for this company for exactly 3 months now, but I was hired as an AGM. I'm not specific on what my responsibilities are as AGM.
However the GM at the time, quit 1 and a half months in. I was thrown into the role and have been handling it since.
My regional calls himself our GM but is never on site.
Was reluctant to cover my shifts when I became sick and requested time off for a few days. (4 days)
Any thoughts?

Here’s how you know you hate biglaw more than the standard “being a junior is tough for everyone” line would assume. You get a jolt of excitement when you think about the prospect of failing the CA bar next Friday because it would mean time off to study to retake (or just getting fired).

Today my agency announced there would be a mandatory shutdown for the December holidays. And that if you want to get paid, you have to use vacation days. No choice to work. Either vacation or unpaid.

When negotiating salary what other benefits can you ask for besides the usual sign-on bonus and PTO? Can you ask for a guaranteed yearly minimum percentage bonus? Looking to get creative, what else can you negotiate with?

Looking for advice - I have a manager offer at B4. I am happy with salary and signing bonus, but vacation is lower than I expected. Is it worth negotiating or do I risk angering them if i heavily negotiated salary already?

What was the biggest misconception you had about practicing law? I can think of two for me personally. 1. Working diligently, being dependable and putting in long hours would allow you to maintain a relatively normal use of vacation time (i.e. not needing to elaborately state why you want to take certain time off) as would be the case in a lot of ordinary workplaces. 2. There’d be some sort of feedback when a project or assignment was done correctly, rather than feedback on only deficient work.
