Do your stretching and maybe a set of jumping jacks inside fully layered up. This typically gets a small sweat for me and then make sure majority of your skin is covered up. I also typically run in the streets and avoid sidewalks as not everyone shovels. You will notice after the first 3-5 min of running you are warm and in your happy space. It’s the mental aspect people fail on to even commit. Conquer that and you are good to go.
Bulky jackets are uncomfortable, during running, agree after first 5/7 minutes of running, feel warmed up, so performance fleece with layering would be great.
I love the Lululemon gloves with a windbreaker cover. Besides that layering (leggings when freezing) with a good beanie and long socks
Yes, Massachusetts. I do not use special running shoe just thicker socks. The first 0.5 mile is cold but you warm up quickly
Layers, layers, layers! On the coldest days, I wear fleece lined leggings, a fleece lined compression top, and silk long underwear under both. Performance fleece jacket on top of that and I’m good to go. Knit hat, warm gloves, and wool socks are key — you lose heat through your extremities fastest. This setup works for me to about 0 F, and below that (not common even in upstate NY), I skip a day and work out indoors.

I recommend clothes that are neon and/or reflective to help cars and others see you. Also depending on where you are running, a headlamp or some other lights can be helpful.
