I got a fat raise and promotion this year but that hasn’t cured my depression. Considering leaving and a paycut to just make it to next year alive.

Please do. Your mental health matters more than anything. You can start with setting out a budget and financial goals to see how much of a pay cut you’re willing to take. Hope you feel better soon!

Career suicide is better than suicide by career. Take care of yourself. Once you’re in a better headspace, you can always go back.

OP, your mental health is more important than anything in the corporate world. Strongly recommend seeking therapy if you haven’t already. Therapy (and sometimes temporary medication) can make a world of a difference. I can tell you that it was that combo that saved my life.

Consider taking some unpaid leave to sort your head out and get things into perspective. If it's your job that's definitely causing your depression, then yes, you may need to change direction or roles, but you also need to work out what makes you happy and follow that course. Good luck.

You’re not alone if it makes you feel better. Our decisions come in a month but i already know I’m depressed regardless. I’ll feel worse if my comp decision is bad but I’m not going to be a ton happier either if it’s great.

I’ve come to realize that money can only do so much if you’re mentally in a bad space.

There's a lot of backstory to this but I can only type so much SO I've been with my company for 10.5 hours and just found out they've increased their base pay for starting employees $3-5/hr. I have received my annual 3-4% raises, only because I always make sure to ask for it, but nothing more. They didn't even acknowledge my 10 year anniversary with the company and it's a pretty small company (less than 100 employees). I feel I should get a $3-5/hr raise since the base pay was raised. Thoughts?

I need help immediately! So I just got an offer from Gartner, but I am also interviewing with Google, Microsoft, and Tik Tok. I am prepping for a final loop at Microsoft but told Gartner I have an offer to make negotiations more in my favor.
