Happy to have just received my promotion to senior manager after a very challenging year, backed by an even more challenging year prior. I've got my own beliefs what a senior manager does, or should do. I'm keen to hear transition challenges others have gone through when becoming a senior manager.
New to options trading, been following this bowl a while and trying to get educated with courses on options alpha and TD Ameritrade. How many of yall are able to make consistent extra income from options trading? I’m not expecting BC wins but was hoping after some practice for a little side income to make the no raise year a little less painful. Just wondering if it’s more of a gamble then anything except for the exceptional few...
How do you raise kids to be personally driven?
My Experienced Associate (new A2) thinks he deserves at next level ratings for all of the PwC framework dimensions. How do I better explain that he worked on associate level tasks and did them well, but would need to take on more senior level responsibilities for me to be comfortable rating them at next level? I’m an A3 up for promotion.
Who's gonna respond to Kevin Richard's appreciation email with "thanks for the awesome raise with the record breaking performance year...I truly feel appreciated"
Come to PwC as an expirenced hire Senior in Assurance. Is there somewhere the bonuses scheme is explained on the intranet? I feel like it’s a weird topic to raise with new my new co workers.
Who’s leaving PwC? Raise yoooo haaaandddd 🤚
Strategy Consultant - Currently making $175 base as a 3yr Sr. Mngr. Very happy w my current firm, however I’v had multiple recruiters reach out w/ 200+ base roles. Any advice on how to negotiate a raise at the current firm without burning any bridges? Do I need to have a counter offer in my back pocket?
Any recommendation on which peacoat is better? A1-A2 tax, 6% raise and 3% VC. Thoughts?
I love how strong our talent pool is. I don't love being rated "average". Even though that means on track for promotion, it's annoying.
Separating with spouse but don’t want it to impact promotion readiness. Haven’t told anyone at work and haven’t let performance slip but worried that it might make me look bad like my life is a mess.
Considering exiting my first consulting team for a lateral into a smaller firm/practice (boutique to boutique): same work, same city, +20% raise. What were some of the questions that helped get others off the fence when considering making the first jump? Love both teams, long-term trajectory is very similar - but, it seems like I simply have to jump to get an add-on raise. Appreciate any insight folks have.
Dumb question, but how do you actually give notice to your firm when lateraling away? Do you email hr, or just tell the partners you work with and assume they'll raise it with the necessary people? Also, is a phone call/email too informal and should I be attempting to try and catch people in person? Thanks in advance. First time lateraling out so not sure on the logistics.
Have any former consulting folks here exit into industry after 1-2 years of UG with a skipped-promotion? (ae. Business Analyst -> Associate Manager?) Specifically at a company with 1000< employees
I finally hit six figures today and it took 5 nailbitting LONG weeks in our internal comp review to go through (industry promotion). I negotiated my offer from a 7% increase to 12%! Sharing in case this can be someone’s motivation to negotiate! Advocate for yourself, the boys sure do!
I only plan on staying in consulting for about 2 more years then off for an MBA. Would it be more worth it to take a level and pay raise at a different big4 moving to senior level rather than going to associate/analyst level at MBB? These are my two choices at the moment. I want to position myself best for post MBA jobs in industry. Salary will def be lower at MBB compared to the senior level at big4 so not sure if it’s worth the trade off in experience.
Would you leave a big 4 to go to smaller company? This is in consulting. At current company on partner track but could be 5-7 years and at smaller company ($1b rev) it would be 1-2 years. Partner comp is similar (top Partner obviously make alot more at big4). 75% raise. Lobe my current company and team. Nervous company is too small and staff may be lesser skilled. Would you move? Nothing is guaranteed of course on Partner track. Would you only leave if it's Partner role not just MD?
When people say they work 80 hours, is it true billable 80 or is it inclusive of travel and some admin time. MBB folks?
Baby is almost eight months old! He sleeps 11 hours at night but has 4-5 wakings these days(used to be just 1/2 before for a midnight feed). Have a feeling it might be because of a heavy diaper(because they usually start happening more during the early morning hours). Do you all do midnight diaper changes? Or no? We use the snug and dry but it gets pretty full by the morning!
Imagining the YouTube ASMR references in the client presentation for that Michelob spot.

Hi All, Anyone have can comment on onbench and onproject Salary component of EPAM Anywhere? As the difference is quite high? How they manage these components? And projects are easily available or its a challenge?
Is the DoorDash take home case just their way of crowdsourcing free work? Feel like the questions they asked could easily be a 4 week project.
What role would have a better QOL, career versatility, intellectual stimulation, and income trajectory-corporate tax in-house role or a T&E partner with a law firm (boutique or Vault 100/Am law 200)? I’m aware of family office roles for T&E folks that are hybrid investing/tax/legal roles with tremendous upside (high six figure income with reasonable hours) and I’m not sure if once you go tax in-house, you’re pretty much a tax in-house guy forever (maybe rare pivot available to finance C-suite)
Anyone else notice that after the debates end, the republican candidates greet their spouses with an arm touch and the Democratic candidates hug their spouses? Probably just outlier since Melania hates Donald and mother doesn’t like ostentatious affection?
Bro how is every medical provider so booked. Called in a place for dental cleaning and the receptionist literally said ‘I am in luck’ that she is able to get me in on May 28th 2022 at 4:15pm. I told her that’s fine coz I won’t have any teeth left to be cleaned by then

Just got recruited for Google which is located on the west coast and I live on the east coast. However, I have a kid on the way. What would you do? 🤔
Have any of your firms discussed a flexible WFH policy post-pandemic? I’m happier & my hours are through the roof. I want to approach management with policy ideas for people like me who are thriving.
Recruiters reach out to me and ask me if I am open to industry opportunity. I am curious so I interviewed a staffing company. They will apply a position on my behalf. Now I am nervous and feel guilty
I think I’m falling for my mother in law. The feelings aren’t necessarily sexual in nature. They seem to be much deeper and emotional feelings—which I get would concern my wife more so than sexual feelings. It doesn’t help that everyone thinks my MIL finds me to be her “favorite” in addition to some other complicating nuances. Obviously, I won’t act on these feelings, but as the years go by, the closer we’re going to get since she’s around a lot and we talk quite often when we’re alone.
