Have +5 years of experience working with health/biomed data and about to finish a grad program in May. Really burning out from everything. I’m back after maternity leave and my full time schedule just kicked in. Baby girl just turned 5 months and is at home with family. Oldest in preschool. I just can’t do it all. I can work 8 hours sure but I mean I’m going 9-5, back on for a half hour 530-6, back off until 8. In my “down time” I am breastfeeding or having dinner with family then going through the entire childcare routine. I get everyone ready in the AM. I do drop off and pick up. I can’t breath

Technically, if you are rich enough, isn’t self-insurance the best option? Insurance companies have to make money by taking in more in premiums than paying out in claims, so on average the customer is losing money and has a negative (albeit stable) NPV on their insurance money. But if you had enough money to tolerate the risk of a unexpectedly high expense, wouldn’t it be better to not pay for the insurance?

How do you assure yourself that your baby (7 months) is crying at night for reasons that can be helped by sleepy training and not pain or illness? My daughter cries bloody murder, like she’s in horrible pain or something, several times a night. Weighing offers from IQVIA (Consultant, strategy/life science) and Oliver Wyman (Experienced Consultant). IQVIA base and total comp are slightly better. Thoughts on each company, work/life, career growth, ect. Which offer would you accept? Also, I am a consultant for a healthcare network now, not a physician.
