I got a verbal offer for 25% more than my current position. Also a 20% bonus every year.

Small company, so I guess verbal offers are a thing? They’d like a response within a week to get the official offer sent through DocuSign.

Red flags or is this typical?

Generally things are initially verbal so they don’t spend a bunch of time typing up documents for nothing. Especially if it’s a small company where everyone is wearing multiple hats. No red flags for me as long as the formal document contains what you initially discussed.

This is the standard process in Fortune 100 companies. The written offer is final and often, cannot be changed. This is why we let applicants negotiate when a verbal offer is given.

Tell them it sounds great, that you're excited to join the team, and to send the offer via email so you can make sure you are clear on the scope of the position and compensation before signing.

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

Currently I work for a small company that does the construction of small cell utility poles and roof top sites for the major cell carriers like VZW, T-mobile, AT&T and so on. I am a project coordinator but I do everything under the sun. Created project tracker. Submitti bids, sourcing material, negotiating price on materials, handling post construction inspections, scheduling sub contractors, notifying stakeholders, coordinating with construction managers - property owners - building management.

I’m about to accept a position at an information services company for a marketing coordinator position. They are offering 62k out of a 55k-65k range that I was quoted, and that aligns with my research. It’s much more than what I’m making now, but I thought it would be smart to run this by you all before signing the dotted line. This would be my first time as a marketing coordinator—I’m bringing in 5+ years from an adjacent industry to the table, if that gives perspective. WDYT? Thank you!

Hello all. My company just went through an acquisition and the company did some restructuring of job titles. When they did this we were all advised the company would be making sure our jobs pay aligned with the national average.
My issue with this is my job title went from a Technical Support Supervisor to a Customer Success Team Lead. I have voiced my concerns with management but have been advised job titles are semantics. In my eyes this is a demotion, and will affect how much my job is worth.
