I got accepted to a top coding boot camp (2 more months before I leave work). It's weird that no one knows I am leaving.

Are you quitting then study? I've just looked at the schedule. I so want to quit and do that too but I need to save money for that tuition lol

Yes, I am quitting. If you do the immersive program, you have to quit. It's 50+ hours per week.

Instead of quiting take a 3 week paid leave and 1 month unpaid leave. This way you won't loose a job and have a failover

Awesome dude. I want to learn coding as well. What's cost of boot camp for you? And savage for leaving in middle of busy. Haha

Fullstack is $17k for 4 months which is faster and cheaper than a 4 year degree.

^ land the fact that you'll need money for not working 4 months too and living expenses. Totally worth it if you land a job. @op you should update when you finish and your prospects. I'm sure many of us would love to know

Fullstack's hiring rate is 97%. They have a competitive admissions process. There is an application, code assessment, and interview. I have experience with coding in VBA. The challenges used JavaScript, so I took their JumpStart course before applying.

Nice! What exactly do you do at the boot camp?

What are the employment stats after? Do you have any prior experience? Just curious. I wouldn't mind something like that

Congrats! It sounds like it will be fun.

If you had an opportunity to name your salary and set your billable hours, what would be the ideal ratio per month? Say for example your hourly rate is 400.

Currently talking to recruiters for a new job and it is honestly such a turnoff when they talk too much about having a strong company culture and/or talking about making sure I'm a good fit culturally. For me that borders on culty and is a red flag. I would much rather hear from a recruiter that a workplace's "culture" is that they are accepting of all cultures, diversity, and personality types.

I had 3 rounds of interviews for one role and was turned down and offered to interview for a different role instead. I had an interview with the hiring manager for the different role last week. When my feedback is considered, do they look at just the hiring manager for the new role or also feedback from the 3 rounds of interviewers from the first role I missed?

22, healthy, single, M. Should I really max my HSA? I completely understand the triple tax savings but my thought process is I don’t think I’ll have a large med expense for a while. I know, I know, I know anything could happen but the likelihood is pretty low rn and I don’t want to lock this money up for solely health costs when I rather be saving for a house down payment or continued education. I still plan to contribute to it, but should I really max it out at my age??

Plan on moving to Dallas Texas next year. Currently with Deloitte MTS team and will be a senior at that time. Im wondering how the culture of the office is there? Also, how is the culture of the other firms. Im not opposed to moving firms. Just finished working three 80 hour weeks, so that would be a big plus to find a team where that is not expected on a regular basis!

Hey fam. Appreciate your inputs on this: I used to be a software developer and currently work as a tech risk consultant (CISA, CRISC certified). Have completed a couple of cyber courses but do not have prior cyber experience. Most cyber sec job postings require prior experience in cloud, aws, devops etc. Applied to a couple of roles but no avail. A) Can I start a career in cyber security without prior experience? B) Will CISSP or relevant cyber certifications help?
