Is an MSACC seen as an MBA equivalent?
How many years of consulting experience makes you a stronger candidate for top 10 MBA schools? What should I do if I don't have a good relationship with my current manager for a rec letter?
Thoughts on switching over to Deloitte pre-MBA to take advantage of their reimbursement program? Would be looking to apply in the Fall so letters of Rec. would be a concern
From consulting to investing / lending - anyone has guidance on how to make the move? I’m a consulting manager with finance experience pre-MBA. Thinking about pivoting into investing / lending but struggle to find an angle - assumed that it would be hard to break into investing but lending would be great (all the way from corporate banking to mezz). Any guidance on seeking relevant experience while in consulting?
Do post MBA roles start immediately upon graduation? Or do most people have some flexibility with start date?
Wat the *** are you supposed to do if dinged after interviews? Does it mean you just don’t have the personality for mba? How do u change that?
Monitor Deloitte Consultant Salary for 1yr post MBA work ex ?
21.5LPA is reasonable ? Or is it too high ?
I’ve been trying to pivot from tech to media, through networking etc. or finding some intersection, but it looks like MBA is the best route to go. Anyone from CBS willing to share stats/advice/chat? Really interested in their media and entertainment program and would apply ED. Thanks all.
I’m in my mid 30s, and looking for a change or a break to do self development work in my career and life. What I’ve had:
- few years of starter job post undergrad
- few years of consulting
Is there an experience such as an MBA (but something else since I have that) worth doing for over half a year? What do people in similar career or life stage do? Any recommendations to not feel stuck?
2.5 YOE in tech Corp Dev for 120K. People say that MBAs aren’t valued in tech, but a lot of my team have them, and about half are from M7. Is it worth getting an MBA, even when in tech?
For those of you who got your MBA, did you see a salary jump after you received it? Were there other benefits that people don’t really think about that should be considered? And lastly, do you think an MBA is necessary to eventually land a VP level position?
I work for a creative consulting agency and I’m unsure what I want to do with my career. I’m a 25 female living in nyc. I make slightly less than $60k and I’ve been working since August 2019. Not sure if I should try and go for an MBA, get into a traditional management consulting firm, switch careers altogether. I like where I work now, but the pay isn’t likely to increase for a few years, and I feel like I’m not learning or growing as much (pandemic WFH). Any advice? I’m stressing myself out.
What is the professional benefit of obtaining a certificate from Harvard Extension (if any)? I’m interested in learning more, especially by way of formal education, but not an MBA. Thoughts?
How is the Business Operations (BO) team at ZS?
Particularly at AC level.
I have couple of more questions:
1. WLB as I have heard is pretty pathetic at ZS. Is it same in BO team as well?
2. Salary range for the AC role? (I have 3+ years of experience post MBA, before MBA 0 years, transitioning from big 4)
3. Any on-site opportunities?
4. How are other perks at the organisation? (Apart from fixed pay)
Can I wear a different colored blazer with black pants for an MBA interview or should I stick to a one color suit?
Been searching for post-MBA, post-consulting jobs and striking out. Feel like everyone wants an expert and not a generalist. How long is this search taking folks two years out, and any tips?
Project Management Certification:
I've about 5 YOE in total and 2 years of Project Management experience (but I didn't have the title/designation officially).
I'm thinking getting a certification will help me land PM roles.
Should I go for PMP-CAPM or PRINCE2 or any other suggestions?
I'm currently working in the UK in automotive software industry, but might move countries in the future.
Thanks for your time! :))

I had a couple of interviews at Dow Jones and the hiring manager has set up a half an hour video call for tomorrow to provide an update on the role. Any idea what that means? Trying to figure out what should I be expecting or be prepared for.

I’m in a long distance relationship because my partner is in Brazil. I am trying to see if she can get a student visa in US but the restrictions are causing delays and issues. Does international experience count for anything when applying for jobs? I’ve got 5 YOE with 3.5 of that in New York and 1.5 in London - trying to arrive at the story to tell when applying for jobs. For context, it’s at the same company and I’ve been promoted once in NY and once in London.
Love it when folks here applaud decisions made by the orange king and follow it up with 'by the way, I am NOT a supporter but...'
Big decision to make. I’ve busted my ass at a big law defense firm for 4 1/2 years, and have been promised a partnership in October (constantly working Weekends, billing 220 hours per month). I have a 3 month old and would like to see her grow up. The shareholder has consistently promised that “help is on the way,” but it comes in new first year Associates that I train up (and love mentoring them to do so), but inevitably after 1-2 years, they leave. I’m drained and fed up, what to do?
I had to layoff a great person from my agency. The pain in her eyes was crushing and I think it’s the last straw for me here. Having to let people go for performance is one thing, but this...
