Now I am willing to switch into Consulting domain but not getting any leads, also daily I'm applying n numbers of company on LinkedIn, Naukri and Indeed but not a single light of hope I'm seeing.

Try to stay calm- easier said than done I know! Haven’t heard of anyone being laid off over skype though! They normally have HR in the room and ask you to hand over your laptop straightaway! Record the conversation and ask in multiple ways why you’re being laid off - be creative!! On a positive note, plenty of demand for Cybercrime in the market!
I had something similar happen very early in my career (not cyber) where the firm got dropped by a big client. Partner got audited for all project expenses, and basically was doing calls with all the staff to try and pass the buck. He rode me for a $60 power adapter set I bought when I had to do a bunch of international trips.
Nothing every happened on my end despite him asking for all kinds of documentation and spreadsheets. He was ultimately shown the door.
Moral of the story is don't assume you're being canned.
Yope.
Awesome pieces of advice. I had the meeting and Cybersecurity Advisory is definitely getting hit. I am fine for now but there is tension. The breach is making our cyber sec clients nervous and we are getting contracts cancelled by the minute. I will start looking for a plan B soon because today I'm fine but tomorrow who knows...
Man- would never want to work for D after seeing how these clowns treat each other. Op- dodged a bullet for now but yes keep looking. Join us if you want better team. Your peers here are just pure nasty. Like D losing clients after a breach is something we didn't know was coming!!
Reply "hot dog or not hot dog?"
Was the client also Deloitte?
Decline and propose another time
D2 and EY3, hope you two drop dead soon! OP, understand your concern, but unlikely based on one project. Speak to a lawyer in advance and prep for the worst though
Cancel the meeting, take a long vacation.
They could just be touching base to make sure you are fine after abrupt end to your project
M2 is right, btw. No one is let go over Skype calls. Talent is on call and HR is in the room.
Recording a call without the other person's knowledge is illegal in some states (i.e. Not helpful in court)
I think even in the worst case, considering you are a manager, getting another gig should not be that hard. Line up some referrals before the call. Leaving the firm is a good idea either ways. I’m expecting at least 2-4 years before D builds up its credibility in the Cyber space anyway. So staffing is going to be a serious upcoming problem. Jump ship.
What level are you OP? I'd say it's more likely if you were a manager/senior and had significant ownership of the project. If an analyst probably not
Depends on the why. Consultants get rolled off all the time. I've seen it happen to PPEDs on down to analysts. One bad project isn't usually a career killer.
I heard you’re getting rolled off. Bye Felicia
Thanks for calming me down M2! Let's hope for the best
Reschedule 3 weeks out and go on vacay
Best of luck OP. Don't panic but do prepare. Sometimes leaders just want to check on the welfare of their staff after major events and sometimes they just don't take the time to get a full subject header and agenda in an invite. Keep your head up.
