Try to stay calm- easier said than done I know! Haven’t heard of anyone being laid off over skype though! They normally have HR in the room and ask you to hand over your laptop straightaway! Record the conversation and ask in multiple ways why you’re being laid off - be creative!! On a positive note, plenty of demand for Cybercrime in the market!
I had something similar happen very early in my career (not cyber) where the firm got dropped by a big client. Partner got audited for all project expenses, and basically was doing calls with all the staff to try and pass the buck. He rode me for a $60 power adapter set I bought when I had to do a bunch of international trips.
Nothing every happened on my end despite him asking for all kinds of documentation and spreadsheets. He was ultimately shown the door.
Moral of the story is don't assume you're being canned.
It’s nice to see people contributing with credible and constructive advice, something that’s been lacking a bit on this forum of late. Thumbs up D1 and SM1!
Except competitors are getting those contracts and now it has become public information. If I had named clients, yes that would be venting privileged stuff. I am just nervous about not having a job in the near future
Still struggling to understand what you did in your time as manager. You seem to be relatively green, at least that’s how you come across to be honest
@PwC2, meeting happened last week, we talked about how Deloitte Advisory is doing around Cybersecurity and what we should be focusing now. I'm safe for now but will start looking for job opportunities now. It's very uncertain for D Cybersecurity now
It depends.
Check the room where you are invited.
Bye felicia
No show him
Yep will do M2!
^yeah, hope its slow and painful
Wtf M2
P1, D2 is mocking someone potentially losing their livelihood! Deserves no less!
@D2. Not funny. I assume the client rolled us of because of the breach. They became extremely nasty after these news. I am a 4th year Manager, got a 3 in my year end and my utilization is at 80% for this year. it is a Skype call, I proposed another time, she accepted but then she rescheduled to the original time and day. Incan see the end coming
Be sure to update!
@A3, will keep you all updated!
M2, im glad you’re being the nice alarmist. I’m somewhat concerned that OP as a 4th year manager (if anything, 4 years as manager get you fired aka up or out) doesn’t understand what’s going on or not and asks these sheepishly naive questions. Sounds like baloney to me but what’s that versus wishing death on people - that sure is classy!
Congrats! Good to know!
Okay earlier I thought you were just worried so I’ll back you up! But considering your post on contracts getting canceled because of breach on a public forum, I’d say you haven’t learnt anything in your 4 years of being a manager. That’s privileged information, which, if you know, should stay with you!
I agree D2
^Second that! Culture-wise, it is clear from activity here that D is scratching the bottom of the barrel. @D2, do you acknowledge that a potential life event can cloud people’s thinking, regardless of experience? I see no shame in being open and using this forum as a sounding board. Only morons would be judgmental and pass insensitive comments! Manager or not, you’re the one that sounds green to me- at least from an EI perspective!
