I got an offer from a company but I still have my final interview with google. They want an answer today but I’ve already delayed giving an answer. I haven’t told them I still have another interview. How do I delay giving an answer again? Or should I accept and then if I get the offer from google then turn it down?

If you don't mind burning that bridge, then yea just accept it then revoke if you get the Google offer. Companies do this to new hires before they start all the time so

If they’re asking for a verbal confirmation, say yes, pending looking at the offer documents. You can then reject once the documents are shared with you if Goog works out.

If they are not flexible on response time, verbally accept and rescind, if necessary, if you land the google offer. It is fair to say you have a scheduled final interview and you can say industry but I wouldn’t drop who the interview is with. It also has to be framed that you want to compare offer to offer to make an informed decision (vs coming off as current offer being a backup). In fairness, people rescind ALL the time so don’t sweat it and look out for your own interests, OP.

Why not tell them that you're also on the final round with Google? Wouldn't that kind of put more of pressure on them to wait and show that you'd be worth it.

Google may not end up making you an offer. The company that did make you an offer may have other candidates that performed well in interviews, so may want to move on to them. You can also tell Google to expedite their process as you have to make a final decision soon.

I d agree. Accept n then rescind . I d kill myself for google 😃 and if you got a chance take it

Tell google you have an offer. They will expedite your process. In the meantime tell this other company that you would like to request additional time since you’re evaluating multiple offers and want to make an informed decision. If they arm twist you into making a decision then you don’t want to work for them anyway

Accept. If you get the Google offer then turn them down.

I'm 7 months in and doing a really bad job at my current project because I hate consulting and the job itself makes me really miserable. I feel really helpless and don't know what to do because the worse I do the worse opportunities I'll get at this firm later on and then I won't be able to leave. I've been interviewing with some other companies but no offers so far, afraid I won't get any because I'm leaving so soon. Truly feel so helpless and lost, I really want out.

I recently left a pretty good summer internship to take a full time job and I regret it. I have been losing sleep over it all summer. And after remote work ends, the job would be in a high cost of living city as well. Due to this, I am looking at switching jobs again. I feel terrible about starting my career as a job hopper. Despite getting interviews at good companies, nothing is making me feel better about this situation. I don’t know how to handle the thoughts racing in my mind.

Any advice on a Bain full time first round interview? I go to a non-target school, and am an engineering major. I’ve tried applying to consulting internships since sophomore year and have never received any interviews from anywhere. I’ve been casing all summer with friends and am super nervous before the interview. Would appreciate anything that could help me stand out or anything to avoid that would get me rejected. I know Bain heavily focuses on the case and not as much the behavioral.

Rejected by 2 exit ops after on-sites where 2 of 3 recruiters sent a personal message/email saying something like "you seem great/qualified but not the right fit". One said "the HM said you seem really bright and would hire asap if we were looking for a generalist". Another said "this isn't about weakness or lack of experience, just questions on fit". Do recruiters say this to a lot of people or is this genuine? Trying to gauge whether my interview performance is at least solid.

A question for the associates: How should I talk to a new associate on my team (4 mos.) about critical issues including 1) spending too much time on a single project; 2) not meeting expectations in terms of number of billable hours; 3) botching easy procedural issues? This person has significant skills and writes very well. But their work is consistently turned in at the last minute, they have to be corrected on procedures regularly, and they never come talk to me without an invitation.

Has anyone here drafted their own prenup? Context: I am first year attorney and my partner is about to start law school part time.
