Anyone from Boston Consulting Group Boston Consulting Group (BCG) working in non-consulting - Technology/Engineering/Global Services?
How's the work life balance? Glassdoor reviews are full of "long working hours" and hence wanted to know if it's the same with non-consulting folks as well?
How far is it true across the organisation?
Please help me shed some light to decide.
Thanks.

You need to be more specific than just say Deloitte Consulting post mba for anyone to give any meaningful advice.
I would be working under their Strategy Profile.
Take the job offer. You can always move to FAANG later
Even though it may be an easier period now to get into FAANG and RSUs are a meaningful thing that Deloitte can’t give you.
Take the Deloitte offer. Despite the noisy naysayers on this app, I found the entry from b-school to be a really good one. With a strategy profile, it’s pretty easy to navigate to the kinds of work you’re interested in and you’ll have a lot of good exit opps. No brainer
Thank you! Any advice how on not burn out my first year, get onto the right projects would be helpful!
Nothing wrong with going to Deloitte. Only question is why you are doing it if your real goal is tech PM. Deloitte will probably NOT give you any better exit ops than what you can already get with your top 20 MBA and won’t give you much, if any, advantage when you finally decide to go for your goal of PM in tech. If money is motivating factor (nothing wrong with that) then go Deloitte. Just make sure you recognize this is a split path from your goal and that it won’t help you get to that goal. All B4 follow a national staffing model so location doesn’t matter. Nothing to really prepare for as the onboarding programs are pretty solid and your teammates typically will ease you into your first engagement. Best thing you can do now enjoy the time you have now because consulting hours are no joke. Best of luck.
Thanks. Appreciate the solid advice. Since you work for a B4 firm, how has travel been?
Which MBA and how much is D offering?
A top 20 B School; D is offering me a little over 200K TC.
How did you calculate 200TC?
I got 165 + 15 from a top ten…
Response to original question, I was recruiting for FAANG also, but since I did not have any banking or consulting experience pre-MBA they were not looking at me for PM roles… best I got was product specialist offers, and from hearing from FAANG alumni, it would have been hard to pivot from that supporting role..
@Google 1 - Can you get a Product role for Deloitte 2? 👀
What exits do you want? If you want to be a PM at faang 2-4 years from now, your current non-faang PM offers are FAR better than Deloitte because you will build directly relevant work experience. If you aren't trying to be in tech or PM, then Deloitte is better.
Yeah. I think I'm fine with the perception. Post-grad, I'll have a year of PM experience via under my belt so if I go back to PM, I can show I've done the work before.
How is your tech recruiting going?
More ops doesn’t mean better ops. Personally I liked the PM and was recruiting with fb till final round and didn’t get it. But would sign if I did. You get more money for better wlb
