I got an oral offer from a BL (lateral position) and haven’t seen the offer letter yet. Just wondering what’s the typical time for a firm to hold the offer open? Thanks!

It would really depend on the company. Some take longer to process before providing the formal written offer. How long has it been?

Usually 1 - 2 weeks, sometimes the letter says when it expires. You can ask for an extension though if you have a good reason (don’t say you’re waiting on another offer though!).

2 weeks

We both will have the same package, same company, same background(most probably) and same poor work-life balance. They think that this marriage will last longer and has higher chances of being successful. So, is there a Jeevansaath/Shaadi dot com for just ZSers? Think about it? It is a good idea plus no HR problem also 😛

Came across a job opportunity at a real estate lit firm, landlord tenant issues primarily. I am very happy with my current ID firm aside from pay, but I’m up for my first raise in March. I get interesting cases and most of the partners I work with are great. This new position would be a $25k salary increase (maybe more) and I have heard work life balance there is great. My current billables are 2000 which I don’t love. Any thoughts?

I am classified as an agent selling health insurance but there’s a private email I recently gained access to showing the company is using my broker license and I suspected that since I’m the agent of record on a lot of business. They pay for everything including leads but I’m working as an agent in one email whereas there’s another showing I’m using my license as a broker. I get $43,000 salary plus commissions so averaging $80 K a year. Any advice?
