Give it a day or two! I have been highlighting most of my life and the day I get them done are always a bit bright! Toner will wear off in a week or so and it should be better.
If you still hate it just contact your salon and they should be able to help fix… my stylist has fixed mine before with no hesitation

I gotta say after adjusting for a few days I feel much calmer! I don’t think this is my forever look but I can rock it for a few months…my stylist checked in to see if I want to darken but I didn’t take him up on it, which I think is a good sign to stick with it. Thanks for checking back in!
Been there 2-3 times before (I never learn). For the first few weeks, put your hair back and get a thick, trendy hair band. That will help with the stark contrast against your face. In 2-3 weeks it will have settled down and you’ll feel a lot better! Hair bands are in!!
This! The hair bands and big hats are your friend
You can get a gloss and it will tone the hair differently!! Super easy fix! Don’t worry! It might not be that you don’t like the highlights, you may just not like the gloss shade your stylist chose
I got highlights a few years ago and hated them for about two weeks. Ironically, everyone around me loved them and I got the most compliments on my hair I ever have 😂 I grew to really like them. I didn’t get them again but it was eventually fun to see a “different version” of myself and I’m glad I kept them! Agree with the above, if you end up not liking them long term than your salon should be able to fix them
This happened to me before and i made them retone it darker. Never went back to bleach again and instead ask for lightener.
Just get them/someone else to put a toner on it. Takes 5 mins. Super easy fix!

Can you color them back to a darker shade?
Read about blue and purple shampoo (you will need either depending on the shade of the highlights). I used blue shampoo and it totally changed the shade of the color. I actually quite liked the result and it was an easy fix.
I just went through this. If you’re comfortable, get some toner & developer yourself. It’s really easy. Wella color charm is the best and you mix it with the activator (or a 10-20 volume generic developer) in a 1:2 ratio, put it on with gloves evenly like you would conditioner, rinse out after 15-20 minutes. Picking the color is the hardest part but if you know the level you want to be, then you just need to pick the tone - ash, neutral, or golden.
Kristin Ess has non permanent toner to retone your hair to your desired shade. many hairstylists recommend bc they are still able to lift the tone if you ever want to go lighter
Give it a wash and see how they look blended into your hair more. If you still hate it, this is as simple as going back to the salon for a new, darker toner. Most salons do this for free if you’re unsatisfied and come back within two weeks of the original appointment. (I always still tip the hairdresser for her/his time)
