Woah so much negativity... OP, if you don't want to go you don't want to go. At some point you need to measure yourself by yourself and not what other people think of you. HBS is prestigious, but my friends who went said that in the end it's just more of the same thing. If the idea of achieving just to achieve isn't doing it for you, I would pull on that thread. Go do something unusual and if you change your mind I bet you'll still be a great candidate. Maybe ask for a deferral if you like the safety.
That's probably not the best reason to go but doesn't mean you would necessarily regret going. I had a similar (poor) reason but I ended up meeting my husband during my "vacation" so it kind of worked out. Ultimately, you should consider it from your own POV and not feel guilty about other people having a better reason or "deserving" a spot any more than you.
Yes.
A1 why are you still at accenture
I hate you
What are your reasons for not wanting to go? They may be entirely valid reasons. Allow me to be the judge of that.
Shut up
Or rather come here! Let me bitchslap some sense into you!
Yes. Go. Suck it up. You'll regret it if you don't.
Defer. What else do you want to do?
I went - smartest move I made.
That's a good enough reason. You've presumably earned your spot, so you do deserve it. I think you'll get the 2 yr vacation you want, plus so much more from the experience. Be grateful for the opportunity and don't throw it away.
Tough to pass up the network you'll gain, but it ultimately depends on your long term goals.
I mean it's not Stanford.
Defer... its obvious. Your time at HBS will be so much better spent if you know very well why you're there. If you go in with the "2 year vacation" attitude, it'll be a waste of an opportunity. So defer and figure out why you should go
Don't defer. Go, and go early. You'll figure it al out once you're there. I miss it so much!
If I wouldn't get booted off of FB for saying certain things, I would have many words right now.
We can find this douche bag next year when you search HBS and BCG on LinkedIn
Ain't no shame man live your life, alottttta pettiness on this thread.
I second mck1; what are your alternatives? Is maxing out your earnings potential a priority?
