I got my first full time job back in March 2019. It’s my dream job in terms of work, team + industry. (I work for a travel agency doing their social). The only downside is the PTO. (Cont)

Two weeks is pretty low for an agency, even entry level. If you need the time now, I’d ask about the ability to borrow from next year or take unpaid leave.

Bring up your ask of more leave at your next review. If that doesn’t work, ask about opportunities to work from home which would at least give you some flexibility to travel on Mondays/Fridays, even if you’re still working.

Awesome. Will definitely bring it up then! My boss does allow us to WFH but prefers everyone in office at all times... but let’s hope for the best. Thanks!!

Yeah that’s low I got three weeks after one year

like

Yeah 3 weeks feels nicer, let’s see what I can do!

It’s 2 weeks and becomes 3 after 5 years. With start up culture and companies competing to offer more time off, I definitely hoped for more. Given that I’m so new, would anyone suggest me talking to someone whether it’s my boss or HR about buying time off or something? They recently started summer fridays so they are striving to make changes but it’s becoming a bit stressful because I have like 5 different Indian weddings (which means 3-5 days of events). I know this sounds a bit bratty but I was genuinely curious if anyone had any advice or guidance or if I should just keep my mouth shut and look for a new job when I feel it a lot more?

Oh and side note: the parent company who owns us gives their employees the option to buy time but from what I know, my company doesn’t have that option.

I am in the customer service and sales side of travel insurance, and I am looking for a new job, possibly in another field. A much larger company purchased us 2 years ago, and over the last 6 months I have lost 2 designations, one as an advocate, which was my most rewarding. I was told that it had nothing to do with my performance. Any suggestions on how to obtain a position in another area? Such as going from strictly customer service and sales to advocate and claims? Hi 👋 Any good UX books for senior designer level that helps with strategy, and good frameworks, or anything that will help me with my thought process? Will appreciate any suggestions. Thanks! 🙏🏻

So I’ve been freelancing for the last few months while looking for in-house/agency role. I had 10+ years in digital pr and media buying at some big shops but have been told I’m a tweener for roles.

Here's the situation.
I'm a freelance accountant. I have several part time clients, and one main 30-40/hr/week client. This is about the big one. The company has two co-presidents, but for the sake of clarity I'll call the person I directly report to the COO and the other the CEO - note the CEO also is the founder of the company. Again, I report to the COO. The COO is "working" in exchange for greater equity in the company and a crap ton of pay along the way. Cont.
