Exit ops for seniors are IA or potentially compliance in industry. The FBI, IRS or SEC are good options if you are a CPA. If you want a pivot, suggest grad school or try a totally different job in a startup or something. Your path doesn’t have to be linear and you should take some risks especially if you don’t have debt or family responsibilities.
Much better outside opportunities if you exit as a manager. Hold out if you can.
Most of what I see is into internal audit or a compliance role. Other niche areas exist (Fraud analysis, government work, etc) but are more exception to the norm. This assumes you are in I&C, as FTDS/GCS/IFCS would have different paths.
Did you get an email explicitly saying so? My counselor called and told me I’m getting promoted, but I’m honestly a bit paranoid cause I’ve not seen anything official yet and I missed a few timesheets lol.
