I grew up all my life being into STEM. When I was little my parents would get me science kits. They would put me in STEM summer camps. In college I kept changing my major between Phys, CS, Cybersec, and EE bc I liked all the things and couldn’t pick. I ended up sticking with EE, but even within EE I had a difficult time picking a focus track bc they all interested me. All these experiences lead to me to where I am today, but now that I have a STEM career in a corporate setting it’s all boring af

I'm a big lover of STEM but my career is in HR. If you really hate working in it, there's nothing stopping you from making a career pivot into something you enjoy. Have you tried shadowing/talking with your non-STEM colleagues about what they do?

Omg you all are too kind!!! The closest I got was trying to start an AI security company with my buddies from college, but we floundered with the business aspect, and then we all eventually went our separate ways after college. But now you guys have got me seriously re-evaluating my potential. I’m going to have to ponder this for awhile. Thank you 😄

Are there avenues in fraud/forensics that would be open to someone with my experience? If so, are there any skills/certs that I would need to be a desirable hire? TIA!

Thank you in advance!

Currently work as a VP of Sales with 15 YOE. Im managing a large team and revenue target for a growing business. The money is good but I can’t help this nagging feeling of doing something else. What options are there to move into consulting but not the typical post-MBA consulting role? For example I know McKinsey has their implementation business where they’ll hire experienced sales and marketing execs. What other opportunities are out there? Is the pay good? What’s the WLB like?

I’m fully aware that in life there will be some difficult people to work with, but my patience and tolerance has dropped significantly. I hate that because it took so much for me to get to this position of happiness, I’m carrying my personal baggage and might be scaring people slightly. (1/2)
