Unless you really need the car/truck… I normally never buy a first year model. It’ll be hammered with issues and software updates that you’ll need to go to the dealership for.
Wait one or two years after the initial release and then buy.
I’m interested in the jeep wrangler 4xe, But I’m waiting for the 2022/2023 model.
Best of luck!
I want to see if I can get in before the tax incentives start phasing out. That said, I don’t really need the truck for my sole vehicle, so if it has to go in for service, not a big deal. Software updates should no longer be an in-person affair with this - they are doing over the air updates like Tesla.
I'm 100% interested in an electrified truck. Trading in my Ram 1500 for a diesel 1500 in a few weeks, but my next truck will absolutely be electrified, either a plug in or full electric.
I'm not a towing champ, so that particular argument against electric trucks doesn't really apply to me. For my truck workload, electrification is pretty much a win-win.
What I'd love to see would be a HD diesel electric hybrid with the diesel operating as a generator a la train engines.
I don't think the economics make sense in 1/2 ton trucks, but for 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, as long as they can get the engineering figured out, I would think (admittedly with a layman's view) it would be a hit unless it was astronomically priced.
If Ram came out with one, I'd be in a 2500 in a heart beat even though a 1500 easily meets my needs.

Honest question - and please don’t take this as accusatory or vindictive, it’s real curiosity - what’s the draw of these huge trucks? I get the appeal of towing power, the large cab, etc, but I always see people driving these and think to myself “wow that’s unnecessarily large.” Mind you, luxury cars are textbook unnecessary, but I feel like trucks are just SO big and conspicuous on the road.
A1, yep sure am. I actually just arrived here in Welch about an hour ago. Have concrete work ongoing, asphalt prep is tomorrow and repairs on Thursday, and I’ll be doing a good bit of rough electrical work the next few days. Burning down my PTO hours to the 240 limit over the next week which gives me the opportunity to swing hammers for a few days.
