A female friend of mine recently received a settlement in a sexual harassment action against her employer during mediation. Upon receiving her (female) attorney’s final bill she was blown away to discover that her attorney charged her almost five times what the attorney estimated she would charge for the mediation. Went on a final interview today and the interviewer yawned through my presentation, was so BRUTAL with feedback, and was just super low-energy. This dude picked apart my entire presentation and frowned through all of it. Up until this point, everyone that I interviewed with said the presentation was great, but some things that need improvement. I just don’t understand how it’s normal that it’s expected that you make presentations and work for free— just to have someone take a huge shit on you.
