I had a mutual gf give my number to a friend who was asking for it. He hasn’t reached out, what’s a normal response time

I am opposed to people giving out my number and will also never give out someone else’s. The proper response was for the mutual to give you his number and we wouldn’t be here

This is smart

This happened to me a few years ago, I waited four weeks, got frustrated, asked my friend for his number and asked him out. We're married now, and according to him, he just didn't know what to say in a text all those years ago...

like

This. Games are silly just ask for the number and reach out. Often times people get in their head and get caught up. Be the catalyst you want to be and go for it. Being forward and taking the lead to call/text someone could also be rewarding esp if the person just didnt get to it or had life get in the way!

My anxious ADD ass would probably wait a good 4 weeks 😅

like

If I was him I would easily wait a few weeks but am I the problem for that 😂

He should make contact within a week -- same as if he'd asked you directly. He should know that you probably know he has your number and act accordingly if he's otherwise unentangled and interested.

He’s probably stalking you and waiting for the right time.

Any wholesale property marketing brokers here? I’ve been feeling kind of overworked & kind of exploited lately… mostly due to my people pleasing personality and not being able to say no. I am working on at least 10-20 new business accounts and another 10-20 renewals each month. Revenue on the renewals alone are around $100-200k per month. On top of marketing, I also have to service a few larger accounts that are difficult. My salary is in the $70k range and I feel it’s a bit on the low end…

“Can we make the drizzle a little more luscious?”

My issue is less with the fact that the word “luscious” is pretty binary. The drizzle is either luscious or it isn’t. My issue is the “a little more” part. So, it’s luscious right now. We want it MORE luscious—but definitely not a lot more, just a little. Otherwise it would be TOO luscious. Can’t have that.

I hung out this weekend with a work friend of mine. We’re both junior, but I’ve been on FMLA due to an unexpected illness so have been away for a bit. I know that I screwed up on some files before I was diagnosed which I feel awful about and have been trying to rectify (unpaid), but she spent a lot of time cataloguing the ways in which I messed up. It was supposed to be a nice weekend for once and I’m feeling more beat down than ever 😕 just not sure how to get the motivation/nerve to go back!

Anyone have three kids and working in big law? I just found out I’m pregnant with no. 3 and it’s been a lot trying to juggle morning sickness, but based on my experience, I know this is only the tip of the iceberg of what’s to come. My husband and I are elated, but the anxiety of being a mom of 3 kids and working in big law is preventing me from truly enjoying this news. It would be good to know what it’s really like having 3 kids so that I can evaluate how long I really have left in big law.

I’m currently a junior associate in a boutique litigation firm handling IP. I’ve taken a depo already, will argue in court next month and by all accounts, I am great at it. But I’m miserable. I find the games with opposing counsel exhausting and I despise writing briefs (even if I’m good at it). My pre-law school job was in public relations and I chose litigation because I like to win, but I’m now realizing I like success more than the win-lose. Feeling lost… should I move to transactional?

Hey ladies. I just had surgery today and I am out on short term disability until further notice. I am most like going to get a once in a life time job offer by a big law firm at the end of the week. Anyone else obsess over your next career move? I’m a senior associate in a niche BigLaw group in DC. I am just now hitting my stride and can really see a path to partnership. The problem is that this isn’t what I want, or at least what I think I want. (Continued in comments).

Annual review advice?
I feel very secure in my long-term employment and am doing very well. I work at a midsized boutique with a generally solid culture. I’ve been described as “rising star/golden child” etc., glowing reviews. The thing is that I’ve had a tough year with absent mentors, low interaction/training (there are extenuating circumstances with my SA.) Do I mention what changes I need to see to stay here? Or just go along, accept my good reviews and bonus, and keep my head down?
