Take the day off and recover. Asthma can be really scary. If I was your manager I’d rather you take a sick day (or more) and come back healthy.

like

My allergies are so bad, they feel virtually the same as having the flu. Can’t imagine adding asthma into the mix. Take PTO

like

No, you have PTO, right? Use it.

Nope - take care OP!

I've had to take some sick time. If you have it. Use it.

I reached out to someone who i had spoken with in the past about part time work when i heard they were now open to it (we spoke in the past and werent interested when i said i can only do parttime)

On our next call, should i be driving the conversation? If yes, how should i go about time commitments, work expectations, pay etc?

Should i be expecting above or a more formal interview where im asked technical work and work ethic stuff?

IMO Companies that have successfully had employees working from home for the past year+ but are forcing people to commute back to an office setting, are not being environmentally friendly. They are going to be putting more cars back on the road needlessly and increasing carbon emissions when they don’t have to. Plus if they are trying to make claims about sustainability, then a return to the office is actively working against their stated stance.

What would you do? When the team went remote, an employee advised they were going to temporarily go help their FIL with their spouse. Upon resetting the expectations to return to the office (as was always the plan to return in some capacity) we discovered they moved out of state, without informing anyone at work. This individual is still listed and being taxed out of a state they no longer live due to this. Now refusing to return, but advised we don’t have grounds for termination. 😅
