Who knows. Maybe they were waiting for more potential interviews. It was quite rude, but even with the shortage of teachers, admin acts like we teachers are a dime a dozen. Just amazing!
Yes, I totally agree, and I accepted the other offer because they made me feel like a first choice, tbh, when I did not hear from the HS, I felt like I was not their first choice…
That tells you a lot about the culture and professionalism so I'd say you dodged a bullet there OP!

Many schools won’t release their candidate pool (notify them an offer has been made elsewhere) until their initial picks have accepted and completed their paperwork. It sounds like they probably had an offer or two out and the candidate(s) rescinded. It’s shady, but it is pretty common. I’d take it as a warning sign.

No, I accepted the other offer, which was a great offer with a signing bonus too, however, the HS was only 5 to 10 minutes from my house, whereas, the job I accepted is about 30 minutes, either way, they both were good jobs…

I would be just too curious. I would want to do the inperson interview to have the pleasure of saying NO thank you. It’s petty but sometimes petty is satisfying. 😂😂
Yes, I felt that way at first, but I really put a lot into interviews, and particularly, those demo lessons… Tbh, it would’ve been a waste of my time and even take a day off my job to decline an offer, no thank you!!! But it would have felt so good, especially, how so many of these employers waste our time or even worse, ghost potential interviewers, who spent time and money to go to these interviews…
