When is a 3 page resume acceptable?
Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?

Hi Everyone, I am trying to apply for a Technical Support role at Dropbox I’m entering all the required fields but there seems to be an issue, when I hit submit after filling the form, it doesn’t submit and throws error ‘Looks like you left this blank! Please fill out this required field’ when all the fields are entered already (I have checked so many times, and filled the form from scratch several times too). Anyone from Dropbox who can put me in touch with HR or suggest what I should do next?

Guess you’ll have to follow up this week!
Chief
Waiting a week is normal. These things really do take time.
The fact the CCO spotted your talent is a huge win, and should give you a huge ego boost. Congrats.
There are dozens of considerations when hiring for a specific role and talent, while very important, is only one of them. Even if you end up not getting this role, use this anecdote by the CCO to give you confidence to keep going and know that things will work out as they’re meant to be.
Also, most importantly, ask the CCO to intro you to some of his CCO friends, as one day one of them will be looking for a junior.
Right on. I’ll keep all this in mind.
It is very very normal to have to follow up, and very very normal to need extra time to get things sorted. Says nothing about your character or work. the compliments from the CCO seem like a great sign. Keep your head up and good luck
Not a bad sign at all. Also, no guarantee you got the job.
Soe places move slow. Some have a process. Some just like to look under every stone before making a decision.
Send out thank you notes to everyone you met with. Don't make them too cute or conceptual. Just a simple, personal note of thanks.
And wait.
Okay, will do. Just followed up with him and he said to hang tight- that he’ll know more later in the week.
I did sent thank you “was nice speaking with you” emails before. Told the CCO his kind words meant lot. Really struggling not to go overboard with the eagerness at this point. Got done with ad school a week before lockdown so this terrible job market has me pretty much fuming with desperation.
Rising Star
Hiring is slow as molasses. Wait and see. Be sure to follow up. Worst case scenario, that CCO introduces you to their network and you land elsewhere and come back to this agency in the future.
Be patient. Things take time these days. Last hire I made took a month and a half since we decided on a candidate.
