Wow sad and sorry to hear this happened. They must have found another candidate they like.

Eeesh that sounds really crazy OP - I think you might have dodged a bullet there! If they are this disorganized with their interview process, I shudder to think what the company must be like

like

I don't think I've ever gotten that far into the process, but yes, there have been a few times when I was told an offer was certain and then no offer appeared. In one case, the company was acquired a few days after my interview and all hiring was frozen. In another case, a new director took over the department and he closed down hiring while he reorganized. And, yes, I've had cases where they decided to go with a different candidate even after I was told repeatedly I was the 'one.' It happens. Don't read too much into it.

Thank you SO MUCH for your insight!

FYI: If the company has their fiscal year end happening Dec 31st. Finance might have advised to put the position on "hold". With supply chain issues and other expected cost increases coming in some companies are holding back on hiring until they see where their revenues actually land for 2021. Try not to take this personally, would be my advice

That’s a great point! Thank you so much.

I have had this happen to me. Mid interview once it dawned on the interviewer they needed to hire for another role before hiring for the role I was applying to. They clearly didn’t have any HR folks to help them sort out their hiring process. If the place you were interviewing with was a smaller company or start up, I would trust the offer was rescinded due to a business decision. If they were larger, then maybe you dodged a bullet, because it sounds like they may be a #mess.

Yeah that sounds like something that we would do. The CEO is very much operation on his feelings whenever he wakes up. Good guy but just no longitudinal sense.

This is my worst fear as an actively interviewing candidate 😭

@Dev 1 I wouldn’t worry about it too much. It’s not that common. It does happen, especially in this weird world we live in, but most of the time it’s good to go. The advice on here is good — nothing is final until you have a signed offer letter.

Honestly that all sounds pretty sketchy. I'm guessing this was some startup run by a 20 year old.

Hope you didn't give them your social or anything...

Haha I did not

Just wanted to share a story here. I’ve been wanting to work for BCG since I was a junior in college. I never managed to even get an interview in undergrad. A year ago, I finally got an interview and I thought it was God opening a door for me. I practiced all day long for several weeks; I meditated and tried as hard as I possibly could. I got rejected and felt devastated. A year later, I interviewed again, but this time I just prayed “thy will be done” before the interview. Today, I got my offer

Hello I am looking for a referral in GS. I am a chartered accountant with post qualification experience of 10+ years and currently associated with one of the custodians in capital markets.

Just started a new role in industry 2 months ago and my manager sent me a long email today saying he is not happy with my performance and is not at par with my level. He also pointed out list of instances when my submissions were late. Some of the things I agree but not all. Should I reply back or talk about it on our one on one and what to respond. They might be building a case to let me go.

I currently work in house at a company with a fairly large legal group. My role has been primarily focused on contracting but I have also taken on a mentorship/oversight role for more junior attorneys on my team. A formal management role in our department has opened up and I am interviewing for it as an internal applicant. My manager is very supportive of this and I have worked previously with the person I will interview with for this position. Would be my 1st formal management role. Any advice?

Employer:1 I have Eb2 140 approved with PD Jan 2013. In Oct 2020, I filed 140 and 485 in EB3 based on my PD. I140 EB3 approved in premium in Sep 2021. Now I have another offer from Employer 2 and H1b transfer done. Question: my understanding is that 180 rule is good for me as my 485 and 140 filings were in Oct 20,even if 140 was approved in Sep 2021. Is that right? If now, EB2 becomes current and EB3 stays back. Can I do interfile with new employer 485J form for EB2 or do I need to start over
