I like the tracking of all of my day. I dislike when I say to my friends or family it will take .5 hours tops to get there than let’s shoot for 2.25 there

like

Amen to that.

I remember in college a dude from 1 of the big 4 spoke to us. When a student asked what he dislikes about his job, he said tracking his time. I totally get it now.

That was the #1 upgrade for me surprisingly. No more having to delay wrapping up my day at the end of week by having to complete my timesheet for the whole week. For tax folks it tends to be way more tedious if you're working on multiple engagements across several clients.

Took me months to realize that there wasn't actually anything I was forgetting to do end of day Friday 🤣

funny

Then just eat them

It’s an annoyance we all deal with unfortunately. If the program you use has a timer, that is one thing that can make your life a lot easier. For over a decade I used to write all my time in a notebook and then enter it every few days or every week, and it felt painful to do that.

We have an app at EY that you can track your time with, add descriptions, pick the engagement code, and then save it. Then at the end of the week (or whenever you want) you can auto upload it to the time sheet and submit. Super easy.

It becomes even more challenging once you get promoted to manager as you end up with many more smaller units of time dealing with many more clients in the course of a day.

Best job to get to transition into HR?

Does anyone know where to start in HR please?

My goal role in 5 years let’s say is Chief People Officer / People & Culture Director, etc.

My background is 12+ years in customer/client experience, coaching, sales, and account management. I’m finishing a Lv7 executive coaching course and starting a CIPD Lv5 people management course.

Any ideas on what roles I can start with? Don’t care if it’s a simple role, getting in with a good company is important.

I'm a SWE from Italy. Love my country but salary and taxes here are outrageous. Got 2yrs experience in fullstack and data science, 2masters, a peer reviewed paper and outperform all my peers for 24k€ a year.
I'm thinkin about landing a remote SWE job (leetcoding and building a portfolio this summer).
Have you got some advice? Is it possible to work for US remotely without visa? What other countries pay well? Is it possible to land a 100k$+ with this kind of experience and working from Italy?

Thinking about making a switch. What do senior managers pull down at tsg?

Hi there 👋 Frenchman here looking to transfer to Singapore. What would be the compensation like for a Senior Manager (2 years in the role already) in Big 4s? Specialty: Cyber Risk. Read different things on Glassdoor or Job Boards and I’m wondering where’s the truth… What I read is between 10k and 20k… 10k seems very low, while 20k doesn’t seem realistic. Any idea? Thank you!
