If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. I’ve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.

I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

No job. No bills. I’ve saved a lot of money and just want to be free for a while before this job kills me...
I did the same 2 months ago. Feel amazing now and am interviewing with McKinsey and BCG for much more interesting/rewarding type of work (or so i hope). Life is so much better now
Confirm with HR but you typically have 90 days to elect Cobra and it’s retroactive to your last day at the firm but you’re typically covered through the calendar month when you quit (because you’ve already paid the premium). HR will be able to answer any questions once you’ve quit
Assuming you’re in the US, your insurance would cover you until the end of the month. So if your last day is 27th, your last day of Insurance coverage is 28th. After that you could do Cobra.
Most companies will honor two weeks unless you go to a competitor, so you should be ok there.
I am sorry you’re in this boat. I don’t know the details, but I hope things will turn for the better. Please don’t be afraid to speak to a therapist.
Good luck to you.
C2: Never thought of that. Is anyone allowed to take LOA?
Cobra which is expensive is an option after the 2 weeks is up. Where ya headed OP
Idk how regulations have changed, but back in 2016 I used Healthcare.gov to buy a plan that was much less than Cobra. I paid something like 300 a month for health insurance with a 1k deductible and fully covered medicine etc.
I second the healthcare.gov
Thanks everyone for solid advice. Trying to hang in there until March 1st so insurance is covered till the end of March. Will look at Healthcare.gov...
OP- as mentioned above. Cobra is retro active. I would give my notice so my last day was March 1. You’ll have insurance for the whole month. Come April don’t do anything. If you need health for anything emergency related then you can get cobra after something occurs such as a broken bone. If you get a cold just pay out of pocket. In most all cases it’ll be cheaper then paying 300-1000 a month. Like P1 above said. Get help if you need to speak to someone. Lost someone this weekend over a mental health issue. People around you love you
Don’t you have a specific period of time for which you have to register for healthcare.gov after a life event?
Usually health insurance lasts for the rest of the month
My HR told me I’m only covered till the end of our pay periods (15th or the end of the month). Can that be right?
