Quite the contrary, you can probably go very far within this path
If you have experience with both, you do you. Don’t let anyone else tell you different. I prefer strategy and diligence work and find implementation and execution work mundane

Nope. We all have our preferences. I really dislike any engagement that might get me remotely close to:
RACI
SIPOC
PMBOK
Operating Model beyond level zero
I don't mind detailed financial models or simulations. I really enjoy estimating ROI and stack ranking opportunities.
I've worked with several consultants who thought they wanted to do strategy work until they did it and they realized they'd rather do project management work.
Omg. Felt this comment radiate through my core… I need strategy ASAP.
Pm all day! Strategy is high burn, and too short
I am with you on that, OP.
I thought Point B is a strategy only shop?

No SM1, Point B does a lot of implementation
You can like whatever you want. You should do whatever you like. You would be great at it and be successful that's what matters. Plus it's easier to strategize with assumptions but it's much harder to implement with reality.

Neither is harder. They're just different. I've done plenty of both and prefer strategy. I know it's a common joke that strategists blame implementation and vice versa, but obviously you need to be good at both.
