I'm one of those people that can have survive on <6 hours. I envy those that can sleep long. I wake up at roughly the same time everyday, regardless of when I go to bed, with or without an alarm. It's annoying...
You're not alone A3, I'm literally the same but typically get 4-5 hours of sleep on a good night...always tired 😩
When you have a baby everything changes. Some nights it’s 3 hours and some it’s 6. The day arrives and it’s time to work. There’s no option at that point but to take care of yourself during the day the best you can. Lots of water and healthy eating definitely help…

D3- that is very true. My parents neither. But my husband and I (especially me) lose all sorts of sleep worrying, waiting up when they get older…. On and on.

I need 24 minimum

Are they sleeping 6 hours and also chugging a ton of coffee throughout the day? Regardless, don't compare yourself to others, do what you need to do to take care of yourself!
I’ve found screen time to be the biggest culprit. Don’t look at a screen at least for an hour before you plan to go to bed and read a book instead. You will sleep like a baby.
My SO can sleep for few hours and feel fine while I sleep 8-10 hours every night and still need a few naps to feel okay. Anything less than 8 hours and I feel like a zombie.
This is me for sure ! My SO needs as much as me so we just sleep in all day now .
Love the wfh cause it gives me more time to sleep
~90% of people need 7-9 hours. The rest need either >9 or <7.
I need 7, my wife needs 10 usually.
I am 35 and I need 9hrs minimum. I can survive with 5-6hr and a lot coffee but that ruins my weekend as I end up sleeping 12-14 hours to cover lost sleep.
Why do you hate it? Everyone is built different. It’s all good.
What is everyone talking about!? Irrespective of whether I sleep 5h or 12h I’m always tired and feel like shit Lol
Maybe it’s a Deloitte thing idk 🤷♂️
How old are you? In my experience you need less with age
31 lol...
Have a kid. You will be Damn lucky if you get 3-4 hours.
For anyone here getting full nights of sleep and still feeling beaten down and under brain fog, consider looking into a sleep doctor for a sleep study.
I had hypersomnia for years and didn’t know it. I assumed I was tired because of hours and stress but even when I was in normal sleep schedules for extended periods I never felt anywhere near refreshed. Looking back my brain was only operating at ~70% of capacity.
Once I got diagnosed and went on stimulants I got my life back. Bosses immediately recognized a huge uptick in sharpness and productivity and I felt inclined to go socialize at night far more frequently. I arguably went from slight introvert to extrovert overnight on the back of treatment alone. Conversations or work tasks that I would normally regard as mentally tedious all of a sudden became easy and fun. The impact was that pronounced.
If there’s an underlying medical issue, taking the initiative to try and sort it could make a huge difference in your quality of life in and out of work.
I’m 25 and found out this year that I have narcolepsy. Sleep disorders are on a spectrum and I didn’t get diagnosed for so long b/c I thought I just needed more sleep than the average person. But I can definitely empathize - it is very frustrating and limiting!
Hi I have narcolepsy too! Diagnosed at 17.
I’ve been sleeping more since the pandemic, 9 hours or so. At first I was worried it was a sleep disorder or low mood but now I’m just realizing I finally have the time to get the sleep I need!

Me too! I used to hate to sleep (“a waste of time”) because I love staying up late, but now I am liking sleeping. Not 9 hours, but usually 7- much better than before! I love not having to get up and run into office!
I can get by on 3hrs if she visiting..

I prefer at least 7 to feel well rested, but tend to survive on 5.5-6.5 during the week. I can get by with a catnap during the day to tide me over till bedtime.
I drink 1-2 diet Snapples per weekday as my only caffeine.
I usually get 6.5-7 hours on a workday as well . Chronically tired
When I feel I am learning a lot, I wish I never sleep. I hope you are at least gaining something meaningful out of your pain ..... you got this 💪
if I'm in a work out routine anything less than 7.5 and I'm exhausted

Between 5-8 hours I’m great; anything more or less and I feel groggy

Only for a few days tops! After a week or so of low sleep it will hit me
I don’t even remember the last time I didn’t wake up tired
I’m fine on ~6 + coffee and have accepted this to be able to do more things I care about
I get that it’s not medically ideal but… idk, I’m doing it intentionally
I won’t pretend it’s an objectively good idea though
