Does doing freelancing / contract work raise any red flags for recruiters or industry in general?
I work at a mid tier firm in an audit group of ~20 people. We’ve recently had two seniors and a manager leave, and I just found out another senior with a ton of big jobs is leaving in three weeks. I also just found out I’m being promoted to senior with a raise of 10%. In light of all these departures though, I kind of want to ask for more.... should I? And what % raise is appropriate? Any insight appreciated!
I am a L10 working in the SAP space within CDO at Accenture. I have been at the firm for a little over 7 months and would like to know come the next promotion cycle how I could switch from CDO to C&M.
Our startup just raised our Series B, I want to ask for a raise but I’m not really sure how to go about it - any tips from my baddass females or allies out there? 🙌
I have an interview scheduled for this Friday but I’m feeling very unprepared. I need more time to think through my professional experiences and how that translates to the role in question. How does it look if I move the interview to next Friday? Would that raise eyebrows?
Is it a red flag to MBA programs to leave my firm after 1-1.5 years without a promotion (promotion would be at 2 YOE)? Would it also be bad if I switched jobs more than once before applying (applying at 3 YOE, will enter school at 4 YOE)?
What % promotion raise can I expect for a high performing staff II to senior in advisory?
Anybody have experience with Monta and Farer? I want to get a new watch soon to commemorate a new job/promotion. Looking at the monta atlas blue dial, also the Farer chrono-sport manual and Farer world time.
Newly promoted experienced hire SC making $113k, 10 YOE (switched industries). Got an offer from TCS in an Advisory practice (not the tech sweatshop stuff that I keep seeing people mention). Base salary is $190k and in TCS equivalent of a M role. Downside to taking the salary hike and boomeranging back to D in ~2 years? FYI - I have 2 kids, so that kind of pay raise is kind of a big deal.
Was upset with raise. Just got a text from mom. Dad is in the hospital. Called. She says he's fine. Can't believe I was bummed about my raise. As if slightly more money matters.
On the Bloomberg Article about Faster Promotion/Pay Raises: Who at MS is trying to get your boy a job?! 😂
Sr Consultant, Human Capital, Federal Industry Alignment, $115K. First year. Will likely get a 3. Was told by a SM that I make as much as most managers and I shouldn't expect a bonus or raise. True?
Anyone recently internally transfer from audit to FDD? Just made Senior and haven’t gotten my raise yet so curious what transfers get, I’m sure it’ll be way less than external hires but the anticipation is killing me.
when is EY releasing promotion list?
I’m planning on asking for a raise for the first time in my career and I want to list out my accomplishments but I don’t want to seem cocky about it. (cont’d)
How soon after a promotion do you think you can you ask for a raise? I am generally happy where I am, and was promoted internally 5months ago. After talking to a few friends at the same level at other agencies, I’m making the lowest end of what my title is worth out there. I did not think at the time that I could negotiate a promotion, so I took what I was given 🥲
Accenture 🐠 can I expect a pay raise after a transfer out of CD&O to C&M (Tech Consulting > Digital) ?
Hi everyone, i have an upcoming first round with jefferies, can someone give me a little insight on the culture of the firm in terms of the people and what to expect as it relates to questions i heard the firm is very technical based. Jefferies
Morning fishes!! I appreciate all the help everyone on here has given me. Though I have not landed a new gig phone screens and interviews are starting to come in after a few months of applying to places. Hopefully this is the month. 🤞
Planning to move to SF and would be curious to know what you pay for rent vs how much you make. I’m finding my tent budget of $2500 (~120k salary) for a one bedroom won’t get me very far.
Unexpectedly on the bench until next week... just booked a last minute ticket to Costa Rica for tomorrow morning! 🙌
To people who have moved from big 4 to mid size, have you found it to be easier dealing with smaller clients? Are the hours/pay better?
I have 71 bonvoy nights accumulated. Should I just book the cheapest room I can find for 3 nights and hit 75?
Anyone else having shoulder problems since WFH? I’ve been having this pain in my front right shoulder kind of the front of your armpit (best way to explain it). I think it’s how I’m sitting at my desk or that I lean into my arm too much but it’s beginning to become an issue. Anyone else have this experience or any advice. TIA
Human Resources L5 Manager at Amazon: $100k base, $30k RSU, $10k signing bonus. Is this reasonable?
Have you ever interviewed and felt you’re over qualified for a role at a company like google? How did you navigate having this conversation with the recruiting team?
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Media folks, at what level of your career should you consider jumping client side? Folks at client side, what’s the pros and cons of client side vs. agency?
Anyone work in tech group with Alteryx $AYX. I'd like some input on what you all are seeing in terms of client adoption. This has been crushed and could be a big turnaround story with the reopening.
Is anyone else in credit card debt?
Whos worked at Cohen and Company Tax in the northeast? I have an offer outstanding. Coming out of BDO Core Tax as an L5 (one step to manager). Pros, cons, dos, don’ts? Accept or no? The salary is competitive.
Can we all admit now that covid is NOTHING like the flu? Like its July, why is this thing still going? And how are we recording 60k cases a day? At that rate the whole country will have caught it by years end. The flu goes away --- this stuff hasn't lost a step
I am recently received an invite for a meeting with a partner and a HR person which means I am either going to be laidoff or put on a reduced schedule (60% time for 60% pay). I would rather being laidoff since I don’t want to still work 100% with 60% pay. How would I frame it if they put me on the reduced schedule? I don’t want to say “you have to fire me” since it might be counted as resignation and I won’t receive the severance package.
Can anyone speak to culture and lifestyle in the VC/EM groups at WSGR and Perkins Coie? Considering a lateral move as a junior. Very unhappy at my firm but I do have it good hours-wise by biglaw standards doing lender-side finance.. nervous about going to a total sweatshop.
2 hour conference call while remote was an excellent way to listen while also cleaning out my pantry. #multitasking
Recruiter from Infinity Consulting Solutions, Inc. (ICS) reached out to me for a Managing Director position. How does this firm rank near the big 4? 1-2 tiers below?
