I have 2 toddlers who are both in daycare & I am 7mos pregnant. Obviously, my toddlers aren’t vaccinated and neither are any of their friends at school. I am vaccinated, but have caught covid twice - the first time hospitalized me and was very very scary. I hosted my husbands anti-vax family for Christmas and caught it again then. My husband invited them to visit in the next few weeks after I said I was done hosting anti-vax ppl until after the baby comes. Is this the hill I should die on?

M 🐠 here. That’s pretty messed up. He should be more considerate of your wishes, especially since this affects his own families health. If he wants to meet them still, maybe suggest he meet them on his own in another location like a restaurant.

Absolutely, it’s frustrating because I definitely feel like blame is forced on me for a number of issues in his family and this didn’t need to be one of the many things blown back on me. Honestly, I’m scared! I have had covid, been hospitalized then caught it again from this group of people.

like

Childcare - necessary. Anti-vaxxers visiting - unnecessary. They can catch up virtually or after birth outdoors when it’s warmer.

Exposing your kids because of required childcare is very different from exposing yourselves because your husband can’t wait until it’s safer for you.

After you were hospitalized I am shocked he wants to take this risk. Covid is not binary. It’s not “I’m exposed” vs “not exposed.” You can severely decrease risk by holding off on seeing anti vaxxers…

like

As a 2x pandemic mom, avoiding anti-vaxxers is the hill I die on. I’m willing to accept some level of risk in my life to attain a semblance of normalcy, but hosting the riskiest group of people is a no for me.

Agree with the above. I am pregnant with my second and my first was born right before covid hit. This is not something I’m flexible on. So much of parenting is making decisions without enough info, and sometimes things are worth the risk because otherwise you’d never do anything. I don’t view this as a “worth the risk” type thing. If there was a bad outcome, that is not something I’d be able to forgive myself for, and that’s how I made my decision.

like

You are sooo right! It’s funny, I took the week off to be lazy and I just watched videos on parents who choose not to allow their children to spend the night at friends homes. It goes in the same line of thought you brought up, is it worth the risk?

Honestly, the risk now is I could lose my life and leave my children without a mother. Low chance, but that’s the risk. Thanks for your add!

I would just caveat that omicron made it crystal clear that both vaxxed and non vaxxed people can spread the disease. So I would frame your hill as “no visitors” or “no unmasked visitors” if it’s really about risk. I got Covid from an asymptomatic vaxxed and boosted friend.

like

Makes sense. So “no wreckless idiots” then 😉 just making sure you’re aware, since you do seem risk averse, that you’ll need to do more than avoid these particular people to stay safe. I’m 7 months pregnant as well and think I’ll probably hunker down for the last 4 weeks or so. Unfortunately I have to travel for my sisters wedding at 36 weeks so will have some exposure until then.

I finally took 2 days of PTO that wasn't a sick day or a mental health break from being overwhelmed. I completely disconnected and honestly it made such a huge difference in my personal life. Stuff got done around the house, I wasn't as anxious or stress about every little thing. It really put into perspective of what's actually important to me.

Highly recommend taking a real break.

Basically: Small investment + skills value-add in exchange for a determined amount of equity.

I have a table of different tickers of stocks and their according prices on different dates and times (hour and minute shown, no seconds). I'm trying to extract a singular price for each ticker based on date and time, but am having trouble doing so as there's multiple prices for each time (i.e. one row has $10 for 2:50pm, another has $11 for 2:50pm, etc) and was wondering if there was a way to pull only one price, let's say the highest, for a time?
