M š here. Thatās pretty messed up. He should be more considerate of your wishes, especially since this affects his own families health. If he wants to meet them still, maybe suggest he meet them on his own in another location like a restaurant.
Absolutely, itās frustrating because I definitely feel like blame is forced on me for a number of issues in his family and this didnāt need to be one of the many things blown back on me. Honestly, Iām scared! I have had covid, been hospitalized then caught it again from this group of people.
Childcare - necessary. Anti-vaxxers visiting - unnecessary. They can catch up virtually or after birth outdoors when itās warmer.
Exposing your kids because of required childcare is very different from exposing yourselves because your husband canāt wait until itās safer for you.
After you were hospitalized I am shocked he wants to take this risk. Covid is not binary. Itās not āIām exposedā vs ānot exposed.ā You can severely decrease risk by holding off on seeing anti vaxxersā¦
As a 2x pandemic mom, avoiding anti-vaxxers is the hill I die on. Iām willing to accept some level of risk in my life to attain a semblance of normalcy, but hosting the riskiest group of people is a no for me.
Agree with the above. I am pregnant with my second and my first was born right before covid hit. This is not something Iām flexible on. So much of parenting is making decisions without enough info, and sometimes things are worth the risk because otherwise youād never do anything. I donāt view this as a āworth the riskā type thing. If there was a bad outcome, that is not something Iād be able to forgive myself for, and thatās how I made my decision.
You are sooo right! Itās funny, I took the week off to be lazy and I just watched videos on parents who choose not to allow their children to spend the night at friends homes. It goes in the same line of thought you brought up, is it worth the risk?
Honestly, the risk now is I could lose my life and leave my children without a mother. Low chance, but thatās the risk. Thanks for your add!

I would just caveat that omicron made it crystal clear that both vaxxed and non vaxxed people can spread the disease. So I would frame your hill as āno visitorsā or āno unmasked visitorsā if itās really about risk. I got Covid from an asymptomatic vaxxed and boosted friend.

Makes sense. So āno wreckless idiotsā then š just making sure youāre aware, since you do seem risk averse, that youāll need to do more than avoid these particular people to stay safe. Iām 7 months pregnant as well and think Iāll probably hunker down for the last 4 weeks or so. Unfortunately I have to travel for my sisters wedding at 36 weeks so will have some exposure until then.
