I have 5 years experience as a Senior SE working with financial services & Fortune 100 accounts in a deeply technical field. My fiancé wants to move back home to London - what sort of pay scale would I be looking at? Currently on $150K base + $50K OTE.

Significantly lower than US VHCOL markets, but will depend heavily on your negotiation skills. Equity will also be more difficult to come by. Source: I worked as an SE at a London-based company.

Thanks, I’m anticipating it to be less of course. Do you have a range you could share?

Can you work as an SE at your current company in London?

Have you thought about applying to a US based company with operations in London?

I only ask because I know of a few people who worked for us based companies in London on a US Salary

Hello HR folks. Overheard a conversation at work and am curious what is the norm.
If an employee goes out on FMLA, obviously the benefits person sends them the STD, FMLA paperwork etc. But is it the maagers responsibility to maintain communication with the person out on leave and to get a timeline on their return or would that be the benefits team? Or maybe the HRBP?

Is there a recommended path here? Long one, finished in the comments.

So I make around 35% below market for my titled role. My employer used “startup” as the reason when I was hired, but they’ve finally stopped using that excuse. I was fine with it, because I was promised a promotion within 12 months due to scope change. I’ve now been promoted twice, but in responsibility only. My boss said it’ll be another 18-24 months until my director promo is approved and goes into effect. More in comments

Currently I work for a small company that does the construction of small cell utility poles and roof top sites for the major cell carriers like VZW, T-mobile, AT&T and so on. I am a project coordinator but I do everything under the sun. Created project tracker. Submitti bids, sourcing material, negotiating price on materials, handling post construction inspections, scheduling sub contractors, notifying stakeholders, coordinating with construction managers - property owners - building management.

I can see many posts that people are joining new company and complaint about work life balance. Why is this so?

Curious to hear how other SC commission structures are. Currently at my company we are allowed 1% of every large deal over $500,000, but are capped at a certain amount (cannot make more than $15,000 additional every year). This feels particularly frustrating as I’m working on several million $ deals, but could potentially see only 0.25% of the money I’ve brought in for my business. This is on top of our normal base variable if the company hits their numbers. What are others like?

Base is 60k OTE 85k, but 120% commission cap. I support 10 AEs whose base is 55k. I have 13 years experience in my field, including 5 working in the position of my now prospects. Closed dozens of deals at trade shows, created/presented virtual and in-person seminars, create onboarding and scripts for the reps I support as a SE and am required to be on majority of demos across all time zones. I know I’m getting screwed, but how bad?
